Dec. 2016: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Malts are Munich, pilsener and wheat, hops are Apollo, Saaz and Sladek, dry hopped with Hallertau Blanc. Clear pale golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of herbal and grassy hops, hints of white grapes and mild spices. The flavour is refreshing and medium dry, with distinct herbal hops throughout, some peppery notes, hints of white grapes again.

The flavour has a moderate fruity acidity, with notes of lactic acid. Also distinctly sweet, moderate notes of peaches. A little bitterness in the finish. Won't buy again.

375 ml green bottle, batch #3, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy ancient pink colour, no head. Aroma of lactic acid and lemons, only a hint of beetroot and absinthe. Flavour with the same elements, medium sour, but the beetroot and absinthe / wormwood are more distinct now. Moderate bitterness. Quite interesting.

July 2020: 750 ml bottle, batch #1, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.7%. Golden colour, only slightly hazy, with a minimal white head. Aroma of pine needles, apple cider, farmhouse, honey and oak. Very moderate carbonation, but not lifeless. Medium sour flavour of pine, honey, apple cider, brettanomyces, apple cider vinegar.

August 2021: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Hazy / murky yellow-ish colour, some floaties, moderate white head. Aroma of quince, pears, apples, citrus, farmhouse. Moderately fruity sour flavour, notes of said fruits, dust and malts. Hints of black pepper.

August 2021: 330 ml can, as vandeStreek Hazy Weekend New England IPA, at the Café de Zondebok & 't Zwarte Schaap, Rotterdam. I did not take note of which hops were used, and I am not sure that it was mentioned on the can at all. I hope this is the right one, as it is the most recent. (Untappd has a generic listing.) Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Hoppy aroma and flavour, notes of citrus and tropical fruits, hints of spruce.

500 ml can, from a minimarket in Funchal. ABV is 6.5%. Clear golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts, a hint of soap. The flavour is a bit on the sweet side, notes of malts, sugar and some alcohol, a slight fruitiness helps the drinkability.

March 2006: 650 ml very dark blueish green bottle, bought in France. ABV is 7.9%. Golden colour, large lasting head, decent lacing. Malty and fruity aroma with some alcoholic notes, but not unpleasant. Hints of oak and leather. Flavour is very sweet, but surprisingly it is not as repulsive as many other (often less sweet) golden strong lagers. Tolerable hops obviously contribute to a (nearly) acceptable balance. Moderate carbonation. I’ve had worse beers.

Small sample from 440 ml can at Cardinal, Stavanger (I hope this is the right edition). Black colour, small tan head. A violent and overly sweet attack on the nose and tastebuds from sugar, tonka beans, cocoa and spices. But the guys at "Mandag i Annen" liked it, so who I am I to disagree (even if I claim to hate tonka beans in general)? Well, it is not bad in small portions.

440 ml can, as Moersleutel Smeerolie Mexicake Imperial Stout, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, large brown head. The aroma has notes of roast malts, coffee, dark chocolate / cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon, hints of smoked chilies. Smooth, warming and rich mouthfeel. The medium sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but there is now a more distinct chili burn, and moderate bittering hops. Outstanding beer!

330 ml slimline can, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Strong sweetish aroma of malt sugar and newmown grass. Crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. The flavour is citric, grassy and fairly crisp, but still with some residual sweetness, very moderate herbal hops in the finish. Better than I feared.

330 ml clear slimline bottle with pull-off cap, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Low carb beer. Ingredients include fermentable sugar. Crystal clear very pale golden colour, large and lasting head. The "skunky" whiff when opening the bottle actually is the best thing with this beer. Grassy and artificial weak aroma. Nearly flavourless, just a faint hint of citrus. Bland and boring as hell. Watery and thin moutheel. Pass.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad, as Onder de Linden Wagenings Bockbier. ABV was 7.7%. Amber colour, decent head. Fruity aroma, notes of farmhouse. Very fruity flavour, alcohol is noticeable but not too dominant. Tolerable hops in the finish. Nice.

Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. Reddish amber colour. Moderately spicy and slightly oaky aroma. Moderately spicy flavour with a distinct hoppy finish.

Pale golden colour, large and lasting head. Moderate sweetish and fruity aroma. Boring industrial pale lager flavour, notes of artificial sweetener. Minimal hops. Bad beer.
