Lovely aroma of concentrated apple cider and apple juice, also notes of oak and red wine. Very sweet and INTENSE flavour of concentrated cider / apple juice, oak in the background. Warming mouthfeel. Impressive and expensive.

500 ml can, from Rema 1000 Jørpeland. ABV is 4.3%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of sweetish malts and newmown grass, some floral hops. Thin and citric mouthfeel. The flavour has a little citrus and sweet notes of toffee, moderate bittering hops in the aftertaste. Could have been worse.

750 ml clear bottle, harvest 2022, from the cidery. ABV is 8.0%. Hopped cider, apple varieties are Karin Schneider and Rubinstep. Clear and very pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a small and shortlived white head. Fresh aroma of said apples, a hint of citric and herbal hops, also a hint of sulphites. Fresh apple flavour, medium dry, moderate citric hops, again a hint of sulphites. Well balanced and enjoyable.

330 ml can, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, Klepp. ABV is 4.7%. Murky orange colour, small white head. Moderate aroma of melon, weak citrus and over-ripe tropical fruits. The flavour has more distinct citrus, hints of melon and tropical fruits. Reasonably bitter finish. Refreshing.

January 2020: 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Sauda. ABV is 5.5%. Beautiful amber to reddish brown colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of herbs, herbal hops and caramel, hints of liquorice. The flavour has a slight sweetness with notes of liquorice and caramel, and a dry herbal and hoppy finish, notes of black pepper and basil.

440 ml can, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, as Hogna Calcutta "Session IPA" #042 Fresh hop Citra. ABV is 4.7%. Moderately hazy golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citric hops, hints of pine and spruce. The flavour has the same elements, with a noticeable bitterness in the finish.

February 2022: 440 ml can, batch #336, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. "Dirty" yellow cloudy colour, moderate white head. Aroma of liquorice, hints of pumpernickel bread and some pine. Flavour of liquorice and citric hops, some lactose sweetness, sufficient malts, low bitterness. Something out the ordinary this one, debatable if it is perfectly balanced, but well worth sampling.

Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits (pineapple and others) and sprucetips. The flavour has the same elements. Decent enough to drink, but I get a sense of deja-vu with a beer like this.

The flavour is distinctly malty but not too sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, moderate to low bitterness.

A nice refreshment, but not particularly memorable.

Malty aroma with hints of nuts and caramel. Malty flavour too, notes of roast nuts and a little caramel, burnt breadcrumbs, fairly distinct bittering hops in the finish.

Citric flavour, quite crisp despite some residual sweetness. Moderate herbal hops in the finish. Better than I feared.

Light bodied. Medium dry flavour with the same elements as the aroma, surprisingly moderate notes of tropical fruits. Fairly bitter finish.
