Distinct and intense aroma of dark malts, lactose, vanilla, cocoa / chocolate - and not least the spices used (cinnamon, black peppercorns, cloves, ginger and nutmeg). Very sweet and spicy flavour, far too much lactose, and otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Loads of said spices in the aftertaste. Overkill, but props to the brewery for trying. The can is for sharing - good in small portions!

Shared 330 ml paper-covered bottle, vintage 2020, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 11.8%. Golden brown colour. Aroma and flavour of molasses and dark dried fruits, low bitterness. Warming mouthfeel, smooth to drink.

330 ml bottle, batch #1468, as Lindesnes LB Snekkepils (Marna is no longer mentioned on the label), from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy deep golden to orange colour, very small white head. Aroma of old jam, malts and wort, a hint of chocolate(!). The flavour is malty and yeasty with a moderate citric fruitiness, quite bitter aftertaste.

Shared 3 bottles à 330 ml at Cardinal, Stavanger. Gluten free. All of them were gusher bottles, half of the content gushed out by its own will. The remaining bottles will be returned to the importer. Brown colour. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dull aroma and flavour - not horrible, just dull.

330 ml bottle, as Salamander Lindøy Blonde Ale, batch #064, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Slowly gushing bottle. The glass fills completely by white foam, a pale golden beer appears underneath only very slowly, takes a long time to settle. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, damp basement, dust and citric hops. Fizzy and citric mouthfeel. Distinct flavour of Lemondrop hops, but the bitterness is too low.

500 ml can, from Rema 1000 Tau. ABV is 4.7%. Clear golden colour, moderate to small white head, nice lacing. Nice aroma of floral, herbal and citric hops. Fairly crisp flavour, some residual sweetness, but fairly balanced. Herbal hops in the finish, becomes slightly metallic in the aftertaste.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pale Ale. ABV is 5.8%. Hazy yellow colour, white head. Some fruit in aroma and flavour, but fairly dry, moderate bitterness. Nice enough.

330 ml bottle, a gift from Holmen2, many thanks! ABV is 5.2%. Clear golden to orange colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of oranges and other citrus fruits, also hints of spicy hops. Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. The flavour has first some sweet malty notes and fruity hints of oranges, followed by a distinct hop bitterness which becomes quite sharp in the aftertaste.

330 ml bottle, a gift from Holmen2, many thanks! ABV is 5.0%. Hop is East Kent Goldings. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma of earthy and herbal hops, some sweetish malts in the background. Smooth and pleasant mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Medium dry and crisp flavour, distinct and pleasant earthy hops on a sufficient backbone of malts, the finish has a slight residual sweetness and a fruity hint of yellow plums.

Nice aroma of pale malts and hops (which I first thought to be be English, but apparently they are American: Chinook, Citra and Cascade). The flavour has sufficient malts for its ABV, and fairly distinct citric and piney hops with a surprisingly bitter aftertaste.

500 ml swingtop bottle, as Hacker Pschorr Münchner Gold, from Seven Cellars. ABV is 5.5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of sweetish malts and floral hops, hints of grass and honey. Malty and moderately sweet flavour, a hint of honey again, moderate herbal hops in the finish.

750 ml clear screwcap bottle, batch #1-2022, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8%. Clear and very pale yellow colour. Pours moderately sparkling with a small and shortlived white head. Pleasant aroma and flavour of Yellow Gravenstein dessert apples, medium sweet, a hint of sulphites.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 9.5%. Opaque dirty yellow colour, huge white head. Aroma of papaya, guava, pineapple and mango. Flavour also of said fruits, some citrus too, a moderate piney and spicy bitterness in the finish. Noticeable alcohol.

440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 7.0%. Opaque dirty yellow colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of tropical fruits, spruce and spicy hops. Fruity and spicy hops in the flavour too, pithy yellow stonefruits, moderately sweet, moderate to low bitterness. Good beer.

440 ml can, as Salikatt Prost! German Pilsner, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Strong sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, flowers, honey, grass and herbal hops. The flavour has first some malty sweetness, immediately followed by distinct and herbal bittering hops.

A pint and a half, from keg at The Dog & Bell, Deptford. ABV is 8.8%. Imperial stout with coffee and coconut. Black colour, moderate tan head. Very nice roasty aroma and flavour, the coffee and coconut are there, but not overdone. Also notes of liquorice and dark chocolate, moderate bittering hops. A fruity hint of prunes. Not too sweet, very well balanced. A very good beer, I hope to see this gem in Norway soon.
