On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy pale yellow colour, small white head. INTENSE aroma of banana and syrup. Moderately sour and fruity flavour, banana galore, also oranges. So weird that it is nearly good.

Cask at Cardinal, Stavanger, sample at "Mandag i Annen". Brown colour, moderate head. Aroma and flavour of toffee, blackcurrant leaves and earthy hops. Nice.

750 ml capped dark bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%. Pale golden colour, pours vigorously sparkling with a large white head that actually lasts a while. Dry-ish aroma of quince and herbs, apples in the background. Very dry and crisp flavour of quince and apples, a hint of sulphites.

750 ml corked & caged dark bottle, as Timmermans 1702 - Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek Griotteke, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep red colour, off-white to pink head. Distinct aroma of sour cherries and almonds / marzipan, also notes of farmhouse kitchen. Sour flavour with sour cherries galore, brettanomyces and hints of lemons.

330 ml can, batch #755, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6.0%. Nearly clear deep golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of tangerine, orange zest and apricots. Light bodied for its ABV. The flavour is semi-dry, with notes of orange zest, and a fairly distinct resinous and grapefruity bitterness in the finish.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6%. Hops are Eldorado, Idaho 7 and Sabro. Deep golden colour, moderate but lasting white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits and yellow stonefruits, also sprucetips. The flavour has the same elements, with a sufficient malt backbone, moderate sweetness, and a decent resinous bitterness in the finish. Good beer.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 10%. Black colour, minimal head that is soon gone. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, coconut, caramel and vanilla. Sweet (too sweet) flavour with loads of lactose, caramel, coconut, chocolate and vanilla. Unbalanced. Won't buy again.

500 ml can, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy pale yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of tangerine and mild spices, particularly cloves. Nice flavour of citrus, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom and other spices. Moderate hops. Much better than I feared, might buy again.

750 ml corked & caged dark bottle, as Von Wiesen Rosé Brut 2018, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.7%. Gusher bottle, pours vigorously sparkling with a large but rapidly diminishing white head. Pink to orange colour of the cider. Aroma of apples, redcurrants and blackcurrants, hints of farmhouse, oak and sulphites. Medium sweetness, the flavour has again notes of apples, redcurrants and blackcurrants, some fruity acidity, hints of oak and sulphites.

April 2012: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11%. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Lovely roasty and malty aroma, notes of coffee, liquorice, tar and oak. Low carbonation. Very roasty flavour, notes of strong coffee, English liquorice and malt sugar. Bitter finish, long bitter aftertaste. Not for the faint of heart.

April 2013: 330 ml bottle, as Emelisse Oertype, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 5%, EBU 28. Pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Grassy aroma, some less pleasant "chemical" notes too. The flavour is fairly dry and crisp, and a pronounced hoppy bitterness saves the day.

March 2022: 750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, at a steep price. ABV is 6.8%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, pours sparkling with a moderate but shortlived white head. Pleasant aroma of "spicy" apple varieties and Citra hops. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Flavour again of "spicy" apples and moderate hops, medium dry, moderately sour, but less citric than I expected. Some tannins, slightly astringent finish, hints of sulphites.

330 ml can, as Fjordfolk Norsk på Norsk Golden Cold IPA, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6.0%, IBU 50. Golden colour, only slightly hazy, moderate to small white head. Aroma of citric American hops, also notes of raspberries and tropical fruits. Grapefruity flavour with a decent bitterness throughout, hints of raspberries again.

April 2019: 330 ml bottle, as Barbe Ruby Fruit, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.7%. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small pink head. Strong aroma of sour cherries, cherry kernels, almond essence and marzipan, also hints of humid basement. Distinctly sweet.and slightly sour flavour of sour cherries and sugar, cherry kernels and almond essence. Something out of the ordinary, but not a favourite of mine. Still quite drinkable.

Strong sweetish aroma of white kandij sugar syrup, mild spices, dried yellow fruits and Belgian ale yeast. The flavour is medium sweet, again with notes of white kandij sugar and mild spices, hints of yellow plums, some alcohol, moderate hops.

August 2017: Shared 330 ml bottle at Tau Slipp, from Rema 1000 Karasjok. ABV 4.5%. Golden colour, small white head. Weak unfresh aroma of stale jam and grain. Malty and grainy flavour with minimal hops. Utterly boring.

Oct. 2019: 330 ml bottle, batch #235, from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate off-white to beige head. Aroma of moderately roast malts, mild coffee, hints of spices. The medium dry flavour has also moderately roast malts with hints of chocolate and prunes, and moderate but still distinct spices. Smooth and pleasant to drink.

Strong aroma of fruity ad piney hops, notes of peaches, grapefruit and tropical fruits, also resin, pine needles and sprucetips. Very hoppy and bitter flavour with the same elements as the aroma, balanced by a malty sweetness.

Aroma of over-ripe banana and cloves, some grain and citrus. Distinctly citric flavour, moderate notes of banana and cloves. Low but noticeable bitterness. Decent beer.
