500 ml waxed bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 14%. Black colour, minimal brown head. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, fusel alcohols, liquorice, oak and bourbon. The flavour is sweet but not too much, smooth roast malts, distinct notes of bourbon and oak, hints of liquorice.

330 ml can, as Bådin Beiarn Julebayer, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Moderate malty aroma, faint hints of caramel and red berries. Malty flavour, not too sweet, notes of brown bread, hints of brittle and dark fruits. Fairly refreshing.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 10%. Opaque dark brown colour, moderate tan head. Strong aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries, chocolate and roast malts in the background. The flavour is sweet, but not as extreme as I feared. Distinct notes of raspnerries again, smooth chocolate in the background, minimal bitterness. Nice-ish, but hardly a beer I'll bother to buy again.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 10.5%. Hazy dark reddish brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Pleasant aroma of smoke, wood, malts and dark dried fruits. The flavour has distinct notes of smoked malts and smoked sausage, hints of dark dried fruits again, but not too sweet.

June 2019: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Moderate aroma of fruity and piney hops. Decent hops in the flavour too, but not as citrussy as expected, and the bitterness could be firmer.

750 ml clear bottle, batch #20230115, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 7.2%. Clear and extremely pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived white head. Interesting and complex aroma of various apple varieties, appleskin, hints of oak and sulphites. Dry and crisp flavour, notes of eating apples, great with food, but also enjoyable on its own.

440 ml can, as FrauGruber Shakerato Imperial Stout Biermischgetränk, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 10.6%. Pitch black colour, large and creamy brown head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Roasty and moderately sweet flavour with distinct notes of coffee, vanilla and chocolate, moderate bittering hops.

On tap at Døgnvill Burger Bjørvika, Oslo. I was asked if I wanted draught or can, I went for draught, this was probably a bad choice, as the beer was too yeasty. Golden brown to reddish brown colour, moderate white head. Malty and yeasty aroma and flavour, moderate hops. Might sample again from can.

750 ml clear bottle, 2023 vintage, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.8%. Crystal clear and very pale golden colour, pours sparkling with a large white head that does not last long. Aroma of apples, apple pie, humid cellar and sweat. Medium dry and crisp flavour of apples, a moderate fruity acidity, a hint of broth.

Sweet flavour, distinct maple syrup and caramel, also notes of coffee and roast malts, chocolate and vanilla. Quite nice - something for your sweet tooth.

Pitch black colour, large brown head that does not last very long. Aroma of dark malts, banana, chocolate and vanilla. Oily mouthfeel. Sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness.

Aroma of lactic acid and blueberries, also notes of raspberries, cherries and cranberries. Sweet and medium sour flavour of said berries, also lactic acid, a hint of vanilla.

330 ml can, as ELØ Damnation Imperial Brown Ale, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Mahogany colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Malty and nutty aroma, hints of brittle and roasted nuts. The flavour is malty but not sweet, again notes of roasted nuts, hints of burnt breadcrumbs, moderate bittering hops. Well balanced and nice to drink.

The flavour is not too sweet, but has distinct notes of said fruits. Low bitterness. A well balanced and delightful beer!

Aroma of peanuts, cocoa, caramel and roast malts Very moderate carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Very sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Slightly salty finish. The can is for sharing.
