3876 | Rise Premium Jule Ale Økologisk | Denmark | English Strong Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Attractive chestnut colour, moderate off-white head. Decent malty aroma, notes of caramel and brown sugar. The flavour is also malty with caramel, but not overly sweet. The hops (First Gold) are very moderate. Still a quite drinkable Christmas ale. |

3877 | Kinn Manna | Norway | Mild Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Cask at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark ruby colour, low off-white head. Roasty aroma, notes of cold coffee, hints of ashes. Dry flavour, notes of cold coffee and ashes again, the mouthfeel is rather thin. As the Biblical manna that God "miraculously" provided for the Israelites in the desert (actually a natural plant secretion, according to more recent research) was reported to be "sweet like honey", I expected Kinn Manna to be a somewhat sweeter and richer beer than this. Drinkable of course, but not Kinn’s most exciting offering. |

3878 | Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy brown colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of ripe bananas, cloves and brown bread. The flavour has also notes of brown bread, hints of banana and cloves, but is far drier than the aroma makes you expect. Minimal bitterness. Refreshing and easy drinking - could easily be recommended even for pale lager drinkers who think that everything darker than piss yellow must be dangerous. |

3897 | Père Magloire Cidre Pays d´Auge | France | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared large corked bottle, brought home from France by my son Steinar. ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour, pours very fizzy with a large but short-lived head. Strong aroma of cider apples and oak, hints of sulphites. Moderate carbonation in the glass. Medium sweet flavour of cider apples and eating apples, hints of oak and sulphites. Père Magloire may be best known internationally for their Calvados, but apparently they make decent ciders too. |

3898 | Meantime Yakima Red | United Kingdom | Amber Ale | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 500 ml bottle, at Olympen, Oslo. Beautiful reddish colour, large to moderate off-white head. Lovely complex aroma of American hops, notes of various fruits, hints of spices. Delightful hoppy flavour, well balanced with the malts, notes of red fruits / berries, blackcurrants and blackcurrant leaves, extremely drinkable. Great with a mutton dinner, or alone. A "school example" of English subtlety paired with American quality hops in a moderate ABV "session" ale. |

Surprisingly moderate aroma, some roasty notes, hints of coffee and liquorice. The flavour is definitely roasty with notes of coffee, fairly dry. Smooth and pleasant to drink, will buy again. Inderøy’s best beer so far. |

3900 | Lvivska / Lvivske 1715 | Ukraine | Light / Lite Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. ABV 4.0%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Uninteresting typical industrial pale lager aroma and flavour, but not offensive. Thin body. Next, please! Rerate, 480 ml can, from EkoMarket, Stavanger. ABV is now 4.5%. The beer clearly benefits from a somewhat higher ABV. Maybe not a great beer, but not bad either. Clearly drinkable. |
