Aroma of raisins, dates, caramel and toffee. Rich malty flavour with notes of raisins and dark dried fruits, some caramel sweetness, but not too much. Probably good for many more years, but also eminently drinkable right now.

500 ml bottle in cardboard box, from Best of Beers, Denmark. ABV is 10.5%. Cloudy and very dark brown colour, probably the darkest IPA I've seen (except black IPAs, of course). Moderate to small off-white to beige head. Aroma of over-ripe red berries, jam, piney and earthy hops. The flavour is medium sweet and distinctly hoppy, notes of jam / marmalade, piney and earthy hops again. Slightly warming mouthfeel. Impressive.

Cask at Copenhagen Beer Festival, as Fuller's Past Masters 1893 Double Stout. . Black colour. Sweetish aroma with roasty notes of coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Fairly sweet flavour with distinct roasty notes, coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate again, hints of dark dried fruits, some bitterness. Well balanced and truly enjoyable.

500 ml bottle in cardboard box, as Fuller’s Bottle Conditioned Imperial Stout Limited Edition. ABV is 10.7%. From the Fuller’s Brewery store, also available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely aroma, roasty and floral notes, hints of coffee, chocolate, leather and rosebuds. Distinctly roasty flavour, notes of strong coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, floral notes in the background. Decent hops (Centennial).

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.6%. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Pleasant sweetish and fruity (citrus and strawberries) and spicy (thai basil, coriander, cloves) aroma. The flavour has some sweetness, but not more than normal for a tripel. Fruity and fairly distinct spicy flavour. Moderate hops, a little more would not hurt, even for a tripel. A lovely beer anyway.

Shared 750 ml bottle, at Café Sara, Oslo. ABV was 7%. Black colour, low beige head. Lovely brett aroma, also oaky and roasty notes, brandied fruits, quite complex. Sour flavour, lemony notes, the roasty notes are quite subdued. Tart finish.

Rerate, 355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.9%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Attractive aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Well hopped flavour, but not overdone. Notes of citrus and other fruits make the beer very drinkable, the moderate piney bitterness seems just right for a session. Original rating: RBESG 2016 in Barcelona. On tap at the BrewDog bar. Golden colour. Well hopped aroma and flavour, notes of tropical fruits and citrus, some pine. Easy drinking - a fine "session" IPA that could easily become a regular of mine.

Despite the dominant chocolate: This is actually a well balanced beer, pleasant to drink, and does not become cloying.

Fairly sweet and malty flavour, notes of honey and caramel, moderate herbal hops, the alcohol is noticeable. A bit too far out on the sweet side for me.
