The flavour is not too sweet, but the beer has still a decent body for its ABV. Citric flavour with tropical fruits and sprucetips in the background. Moderate to low bitterness, but very refreshing and easy drinking.

Flavour of citrus and tropical fruits, hints of sprucetips. I doubt if Zizi Jeanmaire was an avid beer drinker, but if she were, I bet she would like this one.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Very dark brown colour. Nice aroma of malts, brown kandij sugar, caramel, molasses and dark dried fruits. Moderately sweet and fruity flavour, the same elements as in the aroma, but unexpectedly sour and vinegary.

Very intense flavour of said fruits / berries, very sour with notes of red wine vinegar, tannins and oak.

Aroma of lime (and other citrus fruits) and mango, only a hint of coconut and oak. Moderately sour and fruity flavour with distinct notes of lime and other citrus fruits, hints of mango, coconut and oak. Nice and refreshing beer.

The flavour is medium dry, with the same elements as the aroma. For those who fear a cloyingly sweet chocolate beer, this must be a nice surprise.

Aroma of chocolate, caramel, brittle, brown malts and brown bread. Moderate carbonation. Flavour of caramel malts and brown malts, also brown bread, not too sweet. The hops are too moderate, even for a brown ale.

330 ml swingtop bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, moderate white head. Fresh and pleasant aroma, notes of herbal and slightly spicy hops, on a background of pale malts. The flavour is very fresh and fruity for a lager beer, also herbal and spicy notes. Easy drinking and fairly dry, but not thin - there are sufficient malts around. Has a nice alcoholic punch, but the alcohol does not dominate the flavour. More refined than other Maibocks / heller bocks I’ve had. Pleasant to drink, with food or on its own.

Moderate aroma of malts (including a hint of mild roastiness) and woodwork, hints of herbs. The flavour is malty without being very sweet, again with mild roasty and woody notes, herbal hops and some fruit in the finish. Not bad.

Very pale yellow colour, large white head. Fairly strong sweetish aroma with grassy notes, hints of artificial candy. Soft and bland flavour, a little malty sweetness, hardly any bitterness at all. No offensive side flavours though, if that can make anyone happy.

Shared 330 ml green swingtop bottle, probably from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. BB date August 2013. Pale golden colour,moderate white head. Strong grassy and sweetish aroma. The flavour is fairly dry, with a distinct and sharpish hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.
