The flavour is mid between dry and sweet, notes of bitter oranges and pine needles, a distinct and sharp bitterness in the finish.

500 ml bottle, from Coop Extra, Sauda. ABV is 2.6%. Hazy and very pale yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of lemonade / lemon soda. Very sweet and "artificial" flavour of lemon soda. I'd rather have a straight lemonade. Not undrinkable though.

440 ml can, from Coop Extra, Sauda. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate to small white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, tropical fruits and flowers, some citrus. Light bodied, but not too bad for a beer of this ABV. The flavour is citric with hints of tropical fruits, tolerably malty, with a decent piney bitterness in the finish. Might well buy again.

330 ml bottle, batch II, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Brewed for Christiania Bryggeri at Norumbryggeriet. ABV is 8.7%. Black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of malts, aquavit, oak, chocolate and caramel. Smooth and medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, moderate hops.

440 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Opaque purple colour, moderate to small pink to purple head. Aroma of lactic acid, yoghurt and blueberries. Fruity and moderately sour flavour, distinct notes of blueberries but not very sweet. Some tannins in the finish. Minimal bitterness.

330 ml clear bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.6%. Murky red colour, shortlived pink head. Aroma of lactic acid, fruityoghurt and blueberries. Sour flavour, lemons and lactic acid galore, also blueberries, just a hint of aquavit spices. Like most beers from this brewery, it is really too sour for me, but at least this one is not undrinkable.

330 ml bottle, as Nøgne Ø A Christmas Carol Barrel Aged Ekstra God Jul Sherry Cask edt. ABV is 16.5%, IBU 30. At Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of malts, molasses, brown sugar, oak and old sherry. Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also hints of mild spices. Warming mouthfeel. Excellent beer!

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Malty and nutty (hazelnut) aroma, also notes of caramel and chocolate. Nutty and fruity (raisins) flavour, also chocolate, some sweetness but not too much. Low bitterness. I am sceptical to beers with hazelnut essence added, but I liked this one!

Flavour of roast malts, unsweetened liquorice, dark bitter chocolate, heavy roast Italian espresso coffee, tar, and vicious amounts of piney bittering hops.

Sweetish malty aroma, also notes of newmown grass and herbal hops, a hint of honey. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, fairly bitter finish.

Strong aroma of roast malts, chocolate and coffee, hints of caramel, roast nuts and oak. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour. Excellent medium dry to lightly sweet flavour of roast malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of liquorice, caramel and roast nuts again.

March 2014: 500 ml bottle, from the Norwegian potential importer. ABV is 4.3%. Chestnut coloured beer, moderate to low off-white head. Dryish, dusty and spiced aroma, hints of coconut and orange peel. Fizzy mouthfeel. Medium dry flavour, "artificial" notes of coconut, orange peel, dust and unpleasant spices, minimal hops. Very unbalanced. Sorry, this one did not rock my boat.
