Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Sauda. ABV is 4.9%. Black colour, moderate to low tan head. Cannot comment on the aroma, as I had a cold. Flavour of roast malts, chocolate, mild coffee, mild spices, dark dried fruits and lactose, some sweetness but not too much. A hint of orange peel. Moderate hops. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 440 ml can, as Monkey Brew Nova Christmas NEIPA, from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy pale yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruits, also citrus. Citric mouthfeel. 1857 | Fjordfolk Jolnir Quadrupel | Norway | Abbey Quadrupel | 3.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 12%, IBU 35. Very dark brown to black colour, small tan head. Intense aroma of caramel and treacle, also boozy notes of raw alcohol. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma made me fear, still with notes of cassonade and alcohol, some woody notes, moderately bitter and slightly peppery finish. Drinkable, but I'd go for a Trappist in stead. |

1860 | Ægir Märzen Amber Lager | Norway | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 440 ml can, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Copper to amber colour, small and shortlived white head. Aroma of bread, caramel and raisins. Flavour of malts and bread, hints of caramel, but not very sweet. Moderate herbal hops, a little more would not hurt. A traditional Märzen should pack an ABV between 5.1% and 6.0%, 4.7% is just too modest. |
