Aroma of roast malts, mild coffee, dark chocolate, oak and "spicy" white wine. Excellent vinous and oaky flavour, chocolate and honey notes, raisins, a hint of juniper, sharpish bittering hops in the finish. Warming mouth- and throatfeel.

Aug. 2017: Keg halfpint at The Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen. ABV is 4.2%. Pale golden colour, white head, nice lacing. Minimal grainy aroma. Sweetish flavour of butterscotch, some bittering hops, but not much hop flavour besides the bitterness.

March 2017: 500 ml can, from Helgø MENY Sola. ABV is 4.6%. Clear and very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of newmown grass, sweetish hints of candy. Fairly refreshing flavour, a tad on the sweet side, fairly decent herbal hops. Not too bad.

July 2016: 330 ml bottle from some grocery store. ABV is 4.4%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of malts, only a hint of oak and vanilla. The flavour is thirstquenching and not too sweet with a slight apricot fruitiness, again only a hint of oak and vanilla. Very moderate hops.

June 2015: 330 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.0%. Oak aged (bourbon barrel is not mentioned), malts are pale and Munich, hops are Super Styrians, EKG and Styrian Goldings.Medium deep golden colour, moderate white head. The aroma has notes of fruity and spicy hops, toffee and vanilla. Medium sweet flavour, moderate notes of oak, vanilla, toffee and fudge, the hops are far too moderate.

Jan. 2015: 330 ml clear bottle in cardboard box, from Vinmonopolet. BB July 2014. ABV is 8.3%. Cloudy reddish amber colour, pours fizzy with a small short-lived head, slightly off-white. Sweetish aroma with notes of caramel, raisins and dark dried fruits, notes of "oak" (cherrywood, of course). Sweet flavour, too sweet maybe, loads of caramel, maple syrup and dark dried fruits, also cherrywood, minimal hops. Okay, but probably not something I would buy again.

Sep. 2017: 500 ml bottle in cardboard case, as Innis & Gunn Latitude & Longitude Series 001 Raspberry Barrel Aged Saison, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Clear golden colour, large to moderate white head. High level of carbonation. Nice aroma of spicy saison yeast and raspberries, hints of oak. The flavour is a bit too sweet for my taste, distinct caramel, again with notes of spicy saison yeast, oak and raspberries, herbal bittering hops in the finish.

Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate grassy aroma. Bland flavour, but no offensive side-notes. Some malty sweetness, very moderate hops. Won’t buy again.

Sweet flavour, more roasty than a normal quadrupel, notes of brown sugar, "spicy" white wine and oak, hints of chocolate and liquorice. Warming mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle, batch #2631, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.5%, IBU 30. Hazy deep brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown bread. Malty flavour with the same elements, also chocolate and notes of cloves, a hint of banana and prunes, some bittering hops. Well balanced and very enjoyable to drink.

Malty flavour too, again with notes of caramel and hints of over-ripe berries. Medium sweet. A little more hop bitterness would not hurt. Dec. 2022: A bit richer mouthfeel comes with the increased ABV, slightly more bitter, otherwise much the same.

Rerate, 440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.0%. Moderately hazy yellow to orange colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of yellow fruits. The flavour is first fruity, sweet with yellow stonefruits and citrus, ending in a rather dry and sharp ashy and resinous bitterness. Original rating: Sample from tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. My notes differ so much from others that I wonder if the wrong beer was on tap ... Golden colour, white head. Moderate grainy aroma. Very dry and slightly smokey / ashy flavour. Not very interesting at all. Well, it was drinkable, but from Salikatt I expect something much better.
