Beer No. 1 of my 7 beers flight at the brewery tap. Cloudy blonde colour, white head. Fairly decent and typical hefeweizen aroma and flavour, citrussy and refreshing, with the expected notes of banana and cloves. Fair enough.

My beer No. 2 of a 7 beers flight at the brewery tap. Golden colour, white head. Citrussy aroma and flavour, with a fairly distinct hoppy bitterness for a golden ale. Decent beer.

The last beer of my 7 beers flight at the brewery tap. Dark orange to copper to amber colour, white head. Very hoppy aroma and flavour, but also some sweetness and fairly distinct crystal malts. Very bitter finish.

Beer No. 5 of my 7 beers flight at the brewery tap. Black colour, creamy beige head. Dark chocolate and coffee in both aroma and flavour. Hoppy finish. Fairly smooth and pleasant to drink.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Egersund. ABV is 15.5%. Black colour, no head, minimal carbonation. Aroma of roast malts, molasses, bourbon and oak. Flavour of the same elements, also dark dried fruits. Warming mouthfeel. A bit more carbonation would help a lot.

330 ml bottle, vintage 2022, from Vinmonopolet Egersund. ABV is 8.8%. Dark brown colour, large to moderate beige head, nice lacing. Aroma of medium roasted malts, roasted nuts, burnt breadcrumbs. Malty flavour, moderate sweetness, some caramel, again notes of roasted nuts, noticeable bittering hops, well balanced.

Dec. 2020: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, shared with my son. ABV is 8.8%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate to small beige head. Aroma of roast malts, caramel, oak, whiskey?, vanilla, dark dried fruits. Nice roasty and oaky flavour, not too sweet, with the same elements as the aroma. Decent hops in the finish. Very good beer.

500 ml bottle, batch #263, from Vinmonopolet Egersund. ABV is 11%. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, raspberries and raspberry drops. The flavour has the same elements, but is not quite as sweet as I feared. Won't buy again though.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Egersund. ABV is 8.2%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Sourish aroma of malts, leftover cold coffee, decaying dark berries. Light bodied for its strength. Flavour of roast malts and coffee, prunes and liquorice, some bittering hops. Weird and unbalanced, the aroma ruins much of the pleasure.

Nov. 2019: 500 ml bottle, from Helgø Meny Tasta Senter. ABV is 4.7%, 11 IBU. Golden colour, moderate white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops, tropical fruits and citrus. Tropical fruits and citrus in the flavour too, but the bitterness is too low.

Nov. 2013: 500 ml test bottle from the brewery. Batch #8. ABV is 5.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of sweetish malts and fruity American hops, a hint of marmalade,a whiff of diacetyl. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately fruity and medium bitter, with some "dusty" notes in the background. Okay, but not quite there with the top ales of the style.

Nov. 2013: Shared 2 liter bottle / jug, at Mandag i Annen at Cardnal (so far not in ordinary sale there). ABV is 4.7%. Aroma and flavour more like a standard English bitter or golden ale, rather than an APA. Nothing wrong with it, but fairly bland and uninteresting.

June 2017: 500 ml bottle, from a grocery store. ABV is 4.7%, 36 IBU. The bottle was not gushing, but when pouring the glass fills completely with white foam, and a pale yellow beer (slightly hazy) appears only very slowly underneath. Ridiculously overcarbonated! Aroma of moderately spicy yeast, some piney notes too. The dry flavour is piney with a faint hint of smoke. Won’t buy again.

Nov. 2016: 500 ml bottles, from Coop Extra Farsund and Kiwi Tau. ABV is 4.7%, bitterness 89 IBU. Hazy pale golden colour, huge white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, notes of tropical fruits, hints of sprucetips. Fizzy mouthfeel. Yeasty flavour (obviously too much yeast in the bottle), very bitter (too bitter) hops.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 9%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, white kandij sugar syrup and mild spices. Fizzy mouthfeel, Medium sweet flavour, distinct spicy notes, both from spicy yeast and spicy hops. Also notes of white kandij sugar. Bitter aftertaste.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, vintage 2014. ABV is 9%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Acidic aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, spices incl. anise, and cider vinegar. Moderately sourish flavour, again spicy notes incl. anise. Nice and light bodied for its strength.

Fairly sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also dark dried fruits, moderate bittering hops, warming mouthfeel.

Aroma of dark malts, brown sugar, Belgian ale yeast and mild spices. The flavour is sweet but not too much, with the same elements as the aroma, also noticeable bittering hops.

Aroma of dark malts and chocolate, distinct notes of juniper and honey. Sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, hints of dark dried fruits. Warming mouthfeel.

Aroma of beech-smoked malts, over-ripe dark berries, raisins, smoked salmon and smoked meat. Light bodied for its strength. Smoky flavour with the same elements as the aroma, but not extreme.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.5%, IBU 20. Opaque murky yellow colour, large white head, nice lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine and spruce. Resinous and citric flavour, the bitterness appears higher than 20 IBU. Full bodied and refreshing.

500 ml bottle, batch #2634, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7%, IBU 30. Moderately hazy pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of grain, wort, dust and over-ripe yellow plums. The flavour is better than the aroma, notes of citrus and yellow stonefruits, on a sufficient malt base.
