Aroma of malts, molasses, fusel, red berries, oak and bourbon. Soft and warming mouthfeel. Sweet and boozy flavour, with the same elements as the aroma, the notes of molasses, oak and bourbon are quite distinct.

Cloying sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, also lactose and dates. I hate tonka beans, this would have been a better beer without them.

Aroma of lactic acid, yoghurt, lactose, raspberries and blackberries, a hint of vanilla. Soft mouthfeel. Moderately sour flavour with the same elements as the aroma, more distinct vanilla, a hint of bourbon. Refreshing.

Aroma of over-ripe pineapple and peaches, also passionfruit. Moderately sour flavour, notes of lactic acid, pineapple, peaches and passionfruit.

Lovely aroma of lime and other citrus fruits, also passionfruit and other tropical fruits, hints of crushed green gooseberries and crushed white grapes. The flavour has also notes of said fruits, with a piney / resinous bitterness in the finish. A nice hopburn and some alcohol.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy "ancient pink" colour, moderate off-white to pink head. Aroma of lactic acid, raspberries and blackberries. Medium sour flavour (not as sour as a real Berliner Weisse - TG) with the same elements as the aroma, fairly refreshing.

Aroma of citrus, hints of spicy yeast. Citrus and sweet yellow stonefruits in the flavour, also spicy yeast, moderate bitterness.

Two samples from bottle at Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger. Like the "ordinary" Kvestad Issider it is an excellent drink, but is it better? Well, if you like distinct oaky notes and a touch of bourbon added to the concentrated apple sweetness, then it is.

Citric flavour, also distinct notes of the above fruits, hints of pine needles, very refreshing. Good beer!

December 2022: 500 ml bottle, batch #81, from Vinmonopolet Egersund. Gluten free. ABV is 9%. Very dark brown to black colour, hardly any head. Aroma of caramel, molasses, brown kandij sugar syrup, brittle and malts. Very moderate carbonation. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, only a hint of whisky, but also an unexpected sharpish bitterness. Won't buy again.
