On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Cloudy / murky yellow colour, white head. Aroma and flavour are hoppy, with notes of citrus, tropical fruits and yellow stonefruits. Good bitterness for a NEIPA. Would buy again.

May 2013: On tap at Haand Festival 2013, Drammen. Dark orange to red colour, moderate white head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of fruity hops and berries. Well balanced flavour, lovely hoppy and fruity character on a background of smooth malts, hints of oak and spices. Närke quality!

Sept. 2006: RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. ABV is 6.3%, OG is 1.070. Lovely chocolate aroma, roasty with notes of toffee too, hints of tar and liquorice. Flavour is malty and moderately roasty, pastry notes. Another fine beer from one of my favourite breweries.

May 2013: On tap at Haand Festival 2013, Drammen. Black colour, creamy tan head. Mild but pleasant roasty aroma, notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee. Very well balanced flavour, distinctly roasty without ever being rough and coarse, smooth coffee and dark chocolate again, decent hops throughout.

June 2012: On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Deep orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of fruity hops, hints of flowers and honey. The flavour is first sweet malts, then distinct hops with fruity notes and a bitter finish. Decent beer, but a bit too much sweetness overall.

Oct. 2013: 330 ml bottle, vintage 2008, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 12.7%. Cloudy dark brown colour, large beige head. Sweetish malty aroma, notes of oak, alcohol and caramel. Warming mouthfeel. Malty flavour, oak and caramel again, but not too sweet for a barleywine. Also notes of dark dried fruits. Oaky and hoppy finish.

440 ml can. ABV is 4.7%. Black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts, oatmeal, liquorice and mild coffee. Flavour with the same elements, also lactose sweetness (too much). Not my favourite from this fine brewery.

330 ml can. ABV is 4.7%, IBU 22. Gusher can, enormous off-white head, the hazy reddish brown beer appears only very slowly. Aroma and flavour of malts, brown bread, caramel and brown sugar, a hint of dark rum. Moderate hops. Not too sweet.

May 2017: 330 ml can, from Coop Extra, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Sweetish aroma, notes of grassy hops. The flavour is a bit on the sweet side, with an astonishingly bitter aftertaste.

June 2020: 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%, IBU 26. Hop is Centennial. Malts are pilsener, wheat and caramel. Golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of wort and stale jam, a hint of caramel. Medium sweet flavour, grainy with hints of jam, moderate bittering hops in the finish. Not impressive.

Oct. 2016: 330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Very pale yellow colour, hazy. Moderate to low white head. Aroma of yeast cloves and citrus, not so much banana. Refreshing wheaty flavour, citrus and cloves, hints of banana.

Aug. 2016: 330 ml can, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of fruity and floral hops, also notes of caramel. Light bodied. Medium dry flavour, only a hint of caramel, medium bitter hops, but not so much hop flavour besides the bitterness. Still quite refreshing and okay to drink.

Aroma of dark malts, caramel and brown bread. Smooth flavour and mouthfeel, moderate roast malts and caramel again, moderate but noticeable hops. Okay.

Oct. 2016: 330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large beige head. Aroma of moderately roasted malts, hints of caramel, chocolate and mild coffee. The flavour is slightly on the sweet side, smooth and well balanced. Notes of moderately roasted malts, caramel malts, coffee and dark chocolate, a hint of liquorice, moderate hops. A very promising beer from Svalbard.

330 ml bottle, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of grass and herbs. Herbal hops in the flavour too, bitter aftertaste, nearly medicinal.

375 ml blue waxed bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 14.3%. Pitch black colour, small and shortlived brown head. Aroma of alcohol, fusel, roast malts, molasses, coconut and cocoa. Extremely sweet and boozy flavour with insane amounts of coconut and chocolate, also vanilla and bourbon. Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.
