Citric and fairly rich mouthfeel. The medium sweet flavour has notes of citrus and tropical fruits, with a distinct hop bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Good beer.

Sweet flavour (too sweet), notes of said fruits and pine, seems strangely unbalanced, fairly bitter finish. I am not convinced that this "raw" idea is the way to go for Nøgne Ø. Won't buy again.

March 2017: 330 ml bottle, at Malone’s Irish Bar, Aberdeen. Oatmeal milk stout, 4.7% ABV. Black colour, small beige head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee and chocolate. The flavour is also roasty, with distinct notes of chocolate, vanilla and lactose, but not too sweet. Decent beer.

Aug. 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting. Black colour, ruby in the highlights. Moderate beige head. Nice hoppy aroma, also moderate roasty notes. Roasty and hoppy flavour, a solid bitterness throughout. Also coffee notes. Somewhat more roasty than other "black IPAs".

Strong sweetish aroma of flowers, jam, yellow stonefruits and tropical fruits. The flavour is not quite as sweet as the aroma made me expect, but the mouthfeel is good for its ABV. Well hopped throughout, fruity with a medium bitter finish.

Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, and floral and grassy hops. Citric mouthfeel. Fairly crisp flavour, a little sweetness, and moderate bittering hops in the finish. Could have been worse.

Nov. 2012: 500 ml bottle, nicked by hand from the rightful owner (who got it as a gift from New Zealand). ABV is 6.0%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of Nelson Sauvin hops (and probably other NZ hops), notes of white grapes and crushed gooseberries. Light bodied for its strength. The flavour has distinct notes of NZ hops, "herbal" and dry white wine and green gooseberries up front, pine in the finish. Good stuff.

The flavour is very well balanced between the malts and the hops, a slight sweetness but not too much, roasty notes with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, followed by a distinct grapefruity and piney bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Jolly good beer!

Feb. 2015: 650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Batch #477/478. ABV is 10.5%. Black colour, moderate brown head. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee, chocolate / cocoa and vanilla, only a hint of passion fruit. Fairly sweet flavour, distinctly fruity first, then the expected roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate, also vanilla. Moderate hops. I’m a bit uncertain how great I think the fruitiness blends in with the roastiness, maybe not what I would call "perfect balance". Still, an interesting beer.
