April 2017: 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.9%. Golden colour, moderate to low white head. Sweetish "industrial" aroma, hints of maize, malts and over-cooked vegetables. The flavour is also sweet, with moderate hops, but no particular off-flavours, so the beer is not undrinkable.

May 2012: 330 ml bottle, from NETTO. ABV is 5.7%. Golden colour, large to medium white head. The aroma has first some sweetish malts and grassy and herbal hops, and is better than I feared - then the usual Harboe notes of wet cardboard set in. The flavour is first sugary sweeet, then I get a hint of grassy hops, before the finish with dust and cardboard. Sure, my expectations were low, but I suppose Harboe would be capable of making an even worse show of it. At least the beer was cheap ...

Nov. 2015: Shared 500 ml bottle, probably from Fakta, Denmark. Chestnut colour, moderate off-white head. Very malty aroma, caramel, brown bread and Danish pastry. Malty flavour, a typical dunkel, caramel and brown bread again, but not as sweet as expected. Fairly decent for something out of Harboe.

April 2013: 500 ml bottle, from Superbrugsen, Denmark, ABV is 7.5%. Amber to brown colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Fairly strong aroma of caramel malts and brown bread, a hint of liquorice. The flavour is malty with plenty of caramel, some spicy hops in the finish, a hint of liquorice again. More hops would be desirable, but for a Harboe product this is not too bad.

500 ml can, as Harboe Extra Strong, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 7.7%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts and glucose syrup, some herbal hints. Medium sweet flavour (too sweet to be refreshing), notes of glucose syrup and alcohol, moderate herbal hops in the finish.

330 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 2.7%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some floral and grassy notes. Light bodied of course, citric mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately citric and grainy, fairly dry, but there are no unpleasant off-flavours. If you want a low ABV pale lager, this one is not as bad as I feared.

330 ml can, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 4.8%. Slightly hazy golden to orange colour, moderate to small white head. Unpleasant aroma of grain, wort and dust, hints of stale jam. The flavour is first citric and kind of refreshing, then the boring notes of the aroma come through in the flavour too, and the beer loses my interest completely.

330 ml can, batch #2873, from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 4.5%. Hazy golden colour, moderate to small white head. Interesting aroma of spicy and fruity hops, notes of yellow stonefruits, pine, juniper and spruce. Light bodied as expected, citric and fizzy mouthfeel. Citric flavour, also the same elements as the aroma. The finish seems more bitter than 22 IBU. Good beer.

June 2013: Shared 750 ml green corked "champagne" bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate but nice aroma, malts, herbal hops and a hint of caramel. Harmonious flavour, not very sweet, herbal hops, highly drinkable. Better suited to accompany Christmas dinner than its sweeter Belgian counterparts.

Oct. 2015: 355 ml bottle, from the Danish importer. ABV is 4.0%. Certified organic. Pale yellow colour, small white head. Strong aroma of over-ripe mixed berries. Light bodied. Dry flavour, with discrete notes of mixed berries, hardly any bitterness nor any other sign of hops. Not a winner by me.

Sep. 2016: 650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, large tan head. Lovely aroma of roast malts, oak, oaked red wine, liquorice, chocolate, prunes, mild coffee. Slightly sweet flavour with the same elements as in the aroma, the roast malts, coffee and chocolate notes come forward stronger now, also hints of vanilla. Moderate hops (28.5 IBU). Warming mouthfeel. Excellent beer.

May 2019: 330 ml bottle, at Cafe Chic Oldschool, Hjørring. Served in Rochefort glass. Nearly red colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of ripe yellow fruits, some spicy yeast. Malty, spicy and fruity flavour, moderate hops. Good beer.

Dec. 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting. Hazy dark brown colour. Moderate malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Rich and pleasant malty flavour. This is a doppelbock, not a Belgian strong ale! Not very sweet though, and the high ABV is well hidden. Hints of salt and smoke.

The flavour has first a little fruit, but mostly grain, bread and wort, quite dry. Low bitterness. Well, they have tried, but this is not a beer I'll buy again.

440 ml can, as Kissmeyer Passion Pale Ale ("Nordic" is no longer part of the name), from BilkaToGo, Skalborg. ABV is 6.0%. Slightly hazy brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Intense aroma of passionfruit, also notes of mango and other tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel. Flavour of citrus and said fruits, noticeable and slightly metallic bittering hops in the finish.
