Strong and lovely aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, hints of pine and spruce. Equally lovely and chewy flavour (yes, I love Idaho 7!) with citrus galore, also tropical fruits, sprucetips and pine needles. Moderate bitterness. Sufficient malty and oaty backbone.

375 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 10.5%. Clear and deep brown colour, huge off-white head. Aroma of calvados, ice cider, oak, raisins and brown sugar. The flavour is rich, fruity and pleasant, but not too sweet, and has the same elements as the aroma, also moderate bittering hops. Dry finish.

November 2021: 440 ml can, batch #1108, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head. Aroma of spruce, tropical fruits and citrus. Fairly dry flavour, notes of sprucetips and pine needles, grapefruit and hints of tropical fruits. Moderate bitterness.

September 2019: 330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 5.4%. Beautiful and clear reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and mild Christmas spices. Malty flavour with the same elements, not too sweet, moderate hops. Pleasant to drink. Better than expected.

500 ml can, from Helgø Meny Kvadrat. Cola colour, large to moderate beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel and pumpernickel bread. Very sweet flavour with loads of malt sugar and caramel, also notes of pumpernickel and liquorice. Low bitterness.

Rerate, June 2019: 500 ml swingtop bottle, from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, large white head. Aroma of malts, honey, flowers and grass. Moderately sweet but still refreshing flavour, notes of malts and honey, hints of caramel, moderate hops. Original rating 2005: 500 ml bottle, many thanks to Gr0ve who supplied it to me from SmartClub Norway. Golden colour, moderate head. Moderate carbonation, good mouthfeel. Pleasant malty sweet aroma with strong notes of butterscotch and honey. Flavour has also butterscotch notes, but also a decent hoppy bitterness well balanced with the malts. Very drinkable.

March 2024: 330 ml can, from Rema 1000 Jørpeland. Distributed by Ringnes, produced by Carlsberg Litauen. Slightlly hazy pink to red colour, small off-white to pink head. Intense aroma of real raspberries and artificial raspberry essence. Sweet and sugary flavour of artificial raspberry essence and glucose syrup. Hints of lemon and malts in the background. Not very pleasant to drink - won't buy again.

Fairly fresh aroma of lactic acid and lingonberries, only a hint of carrot cake. Sour and sweet flavour of fresh lingonberries and lactic acid, carrot juice and mild spices, just the slightest ginger burn, a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. Unusual and interesting.

October 2020: 330 ml can, from the brewery. ABV is 6.5%. Pink to red colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of black chokeberries, lactic acid, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sour flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Hard to detect the carrots and the ginger, they are probably overshadowed by the chokeberries and the lactic acid. Not really my cup of tea.

Distinct aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruits, also citrus, a hint of sprucetips. The flavour has the same elements, nice to drink, but some more bittering hops would not hurt.

Aroma of malts, piney hops and orange marmalade. Thick mouthfeel. The flavour has notes of pine needles and resin, malts and caramel, also hints of bitter Seville oranges.
