5976 | CB Julespesial | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 (330 ml bottle). Reddish brown colour, moderate head. Aroma is initially citrussy, then a bit oaky and spicy. Too aggressive carbonation. Flavour is thin and not complex, some malts but quite dry. Watery mouthfeel. A peppery bitterness in the finish. |

5977 | CB Juleøl (klasse F) | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Rerate 2002: Apparently they have changed the recipe this year. Darker brown colour, gone is the thin mouthfeel and lack of malts. This year both the aroma and flavour are malty enough (caramel and oak therein), and the beer got a high rating in Norwegian newspapers. IMHO however it lacks some of the spicyness in aroma and flavour that a Norwegian juleøl should have. Maybe next year? There's sufficient bitterness in the palate, but I've tasted better hops than these. |

5979 | CB Jubileumsøl | Norway | Lager | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Dark golden coloured and moderately carbonated, this Norwegian lager relies heavily on the caramel malts used. The flavour is distinctly sweet, but quite well balanced with the hops. Lager lovers with a 'sweet tooth' will find it attractive, the rest of you will at the best see it as an acceptable 'change of pace' beer. |

5980 | CB Feriepilsen | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.3
Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 (500 ml can). Very light colour, moderate head. Weak aroma. Hardly any flavour or aftertaste at all, just a hint of bitterness. If it wasn't for the alcohol you might as well drink CB's "crystal clear source water". As if their ordinary pilsener wasn't bland enough... This "vacation pils" needs to be sent on a looong vacation - on its own. Avoid! |

5981 | Borg Juleøl (klasse F) | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, like all "klasse F" juleøl (Yule/Christmas beers) sold in Vinmonopolet stores only. One of the best Norwegian Christmas specials. Deep reddish brown colour, caramel and some spice in aroma and flavour. Good with traditional Norwegian Christmas fare. |

5982 | Borg Juleøl (klasse D) | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 (330 ml bottle). As all Norwegians who love Juleøl know, the stronger "klasse F" beers are the only way to go. Still, this grocery store version from Borg is drinkable esp. with food, nothing offensive about it - just a thin and watery mouthfeel as expected. Colour somewhere between amber and copper, moderate head, malty and slightly spicy aroma. Flavour is lightly malty with some caramel, but not too sweet. Far from complex. Not something to offer Santa (or Odin & Thor...) Go for the stronger version! |

5983 | Primátor Weizenbier | Czech Republic | Hefeweizen | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, my wife bought this one for me in Prague. Typical hefeweizen appearance, hazy golden colour, large white head. Aroma is also typical h.w.: strong notes of cloves, banana and citrus - nice. Flavour is more citrussy than some German h.w.s, cloves too, fairly light bodied, could have been more complex. Not bad though. |

5984 | Krusovice Jubilejni Ležák Extra Horký | Czech Republic | Lager | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, my wife bought this one for me in Prague. Golden colour, large and lasting head, looks slightly off-white. Moderate carbonation, which I like. Aroma is somewhat sweetish, with grassy and flowery aromatic hops. Nice hoppy bitterness in the flavour and aftertaste, but EXTRA bitter? Not more than you expect from a decent Czech golden lager. Still a lager well above average, as far as lagers go. |

5985 | Hansa Edge | Norway | Fruit Beer | 1.1
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 330 ml can. A mix of industrial cider and beer. "Includes malted barley and malted wheat". Pale golden colour, fizzy, head goes from large to none. Nauseating aroma of artificial pear candy, vomit and burnt rubber / industrial waste, absolutely disgusting. Artificial apple and sugar flavour, like the crappiest alcopop you can think of. Nothing resembling "beer" here. Blindfolded I would probably have denied that this could be a beer mix. Definitely "crapolainen". Couldn't finish the glass. Drainpour. |

5986 | MM Special | Bulgaria | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Plastic bottle. ABV not mentioned on the label - 11% must be the malt content / gravity. Golden colour, low head. Butterscotch / diacetyl aroma. Standard pale lager flavour with some butterscotch added. |

5987 | Nokian Punikki | Finland | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Pinkish orange colour, low head. Artificial red colour (E120) has been added to the beer as a gimmick, hence the "red" (USSR / Lenin) style of the label. Grassy aroma with hints of wild cranberries. Boring pale lager flavour with some hops in the finish. |

5992 | Fürst Wallerstein Weissbierpils | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Swingtop bottle, no ABV mentioned. Allegedly the world’s first hefeweissbier-pilsener hybrid. Cloudy pale golden colour, moderate head. Nice aroma and flavour where the traditional weissbier elements (cloves and banana) dominate, but also some German pilsener hops around (Hallertau, Tettnang?). Okay. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Sampled RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. 750 ml bottle, ABV is 11.5%. Chestnut colour. INTENSE sweet aroma of oak and fortified wine, spicy notes. Oaky and spicy flavour, warming mouthfeel as expected from an 11.5% ABV beer. No thirstquencher, but an interesting sipping beer |

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. This beer is intended as an accompaniment with "surströmming", the fermenting fish that only Swedes can love. Pale golden colour. Moderately hoppy and grassy aroma. Grassy flavour with some sweetish notes, thin and boring. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Pitch black colour, low tan head. Very nice roasty and hoppy aroma, some sweetish bakery notes in the background. Nice roasty flavour, not overdone, notes of good coffee, hints of dark chocolate. A very good stout in my book. |
