Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 On tap at the brewpub. Served ice cold. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Low off-white head. Moderate and slightly roasty aroma. Moderately roasty flavour, notes of brown bread, not sweet, low bitterness. OKish, but not very exciting at all. |

5656 | West Hefeweizen | United Kingdom | Hefeweizen | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 On tap at Blackfriars, Glasgow, as "West End Hefeweizen", according to my notes. Cloudy pale golden colour. Typical hefeweizen aroma of cloves, but with some strange sidenotes of rotting vegetables. Citrussy flavour, notes of cloves, thin mouthfeel. Not a very successful hefeweizen in my book. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, at Blackfriars, Glasgow, as "Grozet Lagered Celtic Ale". ABV is 5.0%. Brewed with crushed gooseberries. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate head. Nice aroma of hops and gooseberries. Lagerish flavour (drank it too cold though), with moderate but decent hops and notes of gooseberries. |

5658 | Inveralmond Blackfriar Scottish Ale | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, at Blackfriars, Glasgow. ABV is 7.0%. Voted "Champion Beer of Scotland" - was it in 2004 or something? Beautiful dark amber colour, moderate head. Oaky sherry-like aroma with raisiny notes. Oaky / woody flavour where the alcohol is noticeable, but not too sweet. Bitter finish. |

5662 | BrewDog Paradox Speyside Edition | United Kingdom | Imperial Stout | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Cask conditioned at Blackfriars, Glasgow, incorrectly(?) labeled as "Brewdog Paradox Glen Moray Edition #3". Weighs in at 10% ABV - not quite your average pint at the pub! Black colour, ruby in the highlights. Very nice vinous aroma with strong oaky notes. Very oaky flavour, roasty and relatively sweet. Salty finish. |

5666 | Grans Original Major Pilsner | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can (music/guitar design), from REMA 1000. Brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot. ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Weak sweetish aroma with "boiled" notes (over-boiled vegetables, maize grit). Sweetish flavour, sweeter than their previous pilseners, and definitely sweeter than a GOOD pilsener should be. No wonder they recommend drinking it "ice cold". Very moderate hops in the finish. Yawn. Next, please! |

5667 | Meantime Chocolate | United Kingdom | Porter | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Rerate, 330 ml bottle, as Meantime Chocolate Porter, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. The beer tasted even better now than the first time, and the chocolate is not too much. Lovely! I’m upping it a couple points. Original rating: 330 ml bottle, bought at Peckham’s, Glasgow (£1.99). ABV is 6.5%. Nearly black opaque colour, dark brown / ruby in the highlights. Large tan head, does not last forever. Distinct aroma of chocolate / cocoa, also notes of roasted malts and vanilla. The flavour is quite smooth and sweet with a very moderate roasty bitterness, again with distinct notes of chocolate / cocoa and vanilla - a bit too much for me. Still a nice "change of pace" beer. |

5670 | Black Isle Organic Yellowhammer | United Kingdom | Blonde Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, at The 78, Glasgow. My notes say "Black Isle Organic Yellowhammer IPA, ABV 4.5%" - but I might have been "under the influence" ... Deep golden colour, large and lasting head. Unusual fruity aroma, very complex. The mouthfeel is maybe a bit thin - I drank it too cold though. Reasonably fruity and hoppy flavour, but not very exciting. |

5674 | Durham Green Goddess | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.1
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Cask conditioned at The Three Judges, Glasgow. Extremely pale golden colour with a greenish hue, minimal head. Very moderate aroma, some hops, hints of grass and citrus. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has a noticeable hoppiness with citrussy and grassy notes, fairly dry. I’d like some presence of malts too! OKish and drinkable, but the least impressive beer I’ve had from Durham so far. |

5675 | Craigmill Strathaven Duchess Anne Light Ale | United Kingdom | Blonde Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Cask conditioned at The Three Judges, Glasgow, as "Craigmill Brewery Strathaven Ales Duchess Anne Light Ale". Golden colour, moderate head. Surprisingly malty aroma with notes of butterscotch, and some unusual notes of dishwater and sweat. Smooth and malty flavour, butterscotch again, noticeable hops in the finish. |
