505 | Nedstrand NB Exagération Imperial Stout | Norway | Imperial Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 May 2020: 330 ml bottle, batch #24, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.6%. Never mind that the guys at Nedstrand bryggeri can't spell "exaggeration", this appears as an interesting beer. Very dark brown colour, nearly black, with a moderate tan head. Malty aroma, notes of brown malts more than roast malts, hints of nuts. Smooth mouthfeel. Rich and malty flavour, some sweetness but not too much, with toasted and roasted malts, a hint of chocolate, decent hops, nicely balanced. Enjoyable to drink. |

511 | Breda Super Dry Premium Lager | Guernsey | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 August 2014: Pint on tap at The Last Post, Guernsey, as Breda Super Dry Premium Lager. Should probably have the same brewery status as Breda XXX Royal Lager / Premium Lager (= Brewed at Randalls by/for United Dutch Breweries). Very pale golden colour., long sparkling with small bubbles (probably due to the etchings in the glass). Moderate white head. Weak aroma, some grassy hints. Reasonably dry and crisp flavour, but not "super dry" - there is some residual sweetness. No off-flavours, but unfortunately the hops are far too moderate. |
