Pleasant aroma of cider apples and eating apples, hints of oak and sulphites. Dry and crisp flavour, notes of cider apples with moderate tannins, but the mouthfeel is a bit thin.

Only the faintest haziness, far from "cloudy". Aroma of sour and bittersweet cider apples. The flavour is more sweet than dry, but still rather crisp. Very moderate tannins. Pleasant to drink.

Peach to orange coloured cider, pours sparkling with a small and shortlived white head. Aroma of ripe and over-ripe raspberries, apples in the background. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Medium sweet flavour of raspberries and apples, hints of sulphites.

Rerate, 275 ml clear bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.3%. Golden colour. Pours moderately fizzy with no head to speak of. Moderate aroma of cider apples and sulphites, hints of oak. Thin and watery mouthfeel. The very moderate flavour is quite dry, with notes of oxidised cider apples and sulphites.

500 ml bottle, as Butcombe Original Beer, bought in Jersey..ABV is 4.5%.Beautiful clear amber colour, moderate to small head, slightly off-white. Malty and grainy aroma, hints of toffee. The flavour is also malty and grainy with a hint of caramel, but not sweet. Moderate earthy and "dusty" hops. Okay, but not remarkable. Cask pint at The Post Horn, St. Helier. ABV 4.0%. Deep copper colour, off-white head. Malty aroma, a hint of malt vinegar. Malty flavour, slightly sweet, again with a hint of malt vinegar. Undistinctive.

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13%. Reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of toasted coconut, bourbon, oak, vanilla, molasses and fusel alcohols Warming mouth- and throatfeel. The flavour is sweet and malty, but still not quite as sweet as I feared. Toasted coconut, bourbon, oak and vanilla again, moderate hops.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, low white head. Lovely and intense aroma of tropical fruits, also some citrus. The flavour is mid between sweet and dry, tropical fruits and citrus again, pine needles and resin in the medium bitter finish.
