The flavour is not too sweet, nor too dry, and has the same elements as the aroma. Very moderate hops, a moderate but nice chili burn in the aftertaste.

Aroma of blackcurrants and lactic acid as expected, also some unexpected hints of broth, meat and spices. Light bodied. The flavour is not very sweet, but not extremely sour or tart either. Moderate notes of blackcurrants, fairly refreshing.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, small white head. Aroma of citrus (yes, blood orange) - seems a bit "artificial", hints of spruce and tropical fruits too. Citric flavour, slightly on the dry side, one-dimensional and light bodied.

330 ml bottle, as Baladin l'IPA, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy orange to amber colour, large to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of grain, dust, marmalade and broth. Flavour of citrus, orange marmalade, grapefruit, pine, still with unwanted hints of broth. Medium bitter. The flavour is, after all, better than the aroma, but this is not a beer I'll buy again.

355 ml can, as Oskar Blues Can-O-Bliss IPA Resinous, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.2%. Moderately hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, marmalade, malts and dust. Citric and piney flavour, not too sweet, well balanced grapefruity and resinous bitterness in the finish. Enjoyable beer.

440 ml can, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 8.0%. Black colour, large tan head. Aroma of roast malts, strong coffee and dark chocolate / cocoa, a hint of vanilla. Rich mouthfeel. The flavour is not too sweet (despite the name), and has the same elements as the aroma, with the vanilla a bit more pronounced now. Very good beer.

Flavour again of pineapple, other tropical fruits and honey melon, also citrus. Not too sweet though. The bitterness is moderate to low.

Keg halfpint, as McGargles Session IPA, at Mulligan’s, Dublin. ABV 3.8%. Hazy deep golden colour, white head. Decent aroma of fruity and piney hops. Distinctly hoppy flavour, fruity and piney notes again, light bodied, but still surprisingly good for a 3.8% beer.

Keg halfpint, as McGargles Big Bangin’ IPA, at The Long Stone, Dublin. ABV 7.1%. Golden colour, white head. Nice hoppy aroma, fruity notes. Nice but distinct hoppy flavour, fruity, not too sweet, not too dry, good bitterness, easy drinking for its strength.

Keg halfpint at the River Bar, Dublin. ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour, white head. Moderate citrussy aroma. Distinctly hoppy flavour, apples(?, can’t read my own handwriting), very bitter, probably partly due to a lack of body.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 8.0%. Slightly golden colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of malts, grain, yellow plums, old jam, a hint of pine. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has citrus, yellow plums and pine / resin, fairly bitter finish. Okay, but not really great.

The aroma has notes of fruity kveik and fruity hops, hints of citrus, yellow stonefruits, pineapple, lychee and guava. Fruity flavour too, not too sweet, with the same elements as the aroma. Moderate to low bitterness.

The flavour has also notes of "spicy " yeast, some malts but fairly dry. Moderate grapefruity hops in the finish. Tastes more like a "Belgian IPA" than an English ESB. Quite good anyway.

Intense aroma of fruity hops, but not citric / tropical, more of dark fruits and berries, also distinct sprucetips and pine needles. Yeasty notes too. The flavour is not very sweet, but has some hints of orange marmalade, also sprucetips and pine needles. Moderate bitterness, fairly well balanced.

330 ml bottle, batch #1807, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Moderately hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma of lactic acid, summer fruits and sea air. Moderate carbonation, moderately citric mouthfeel. The flavour is wheaty and citric, medium sour, moderate notes of lactic acid and a pinch of sea salt.

330 ml can, as The White Hag Yule Christmas Ale, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brewed with honey, fresh cinnamon and ginger. ABV is 7.2%. Slightly hazy brown colour, moderate off-white head. Malty aroma, notes of caramel, honey, cinnamon and ginger. The flavour is also malty, but not as sweet as I feared. Again notes of honey, cinnamon and ginger, but they are fairly well balanced. Notes of dark dried fruits too, and some caramel. Moderate hops. Pleasant to drink.

Keg halfpint at Graingers, Dublin. Slightly hazy amber colour, white (or slightly off-white) head. Moderate fruity aroma, notes of berries. The flavour is sweeter than expected, some malts (including some mild roasty ones), hops and woody notes, but not perfectly balanced.
