2501 | Schneider Weisse Tap 6 Unser Aventinus | Germany | Doppelbock | 4.7
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 (Bottle). Theoretically I might encounter a better Weizen than this one, but I doubt very much that will ever happen. Murky brown colour, large head, aroma of Paradise: Cloves and other undefinable spices, dried fruits (figs), oak and sandalwood. Oaky cloves flavour with hints of burnt caramel. Alcohol is present, but not overwhelmingly so. Dry aftertaste. This is a thoroughly well made beer! (Thanks, joss!) |

ABV is 6.2%. Hazy brownish golden colour, big head, slightly off-white. Strong and lovely aroma of ripe bananas and cloves. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is reasonably malty for a hefeweizen, with distinct notes of cloves. Very moderate hops. The alcohol is well hidden. Good beer. |

2503 | Schneider Weisse Tap 2: Kristall | Germany | Krystal Weizen | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, as Schneider Weisse Tap 2 Mein Kristall, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.3%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly distinct aroma of banana and cloves, also notes of hay. The flavour is fairly dry for a wheat beer, with some citrus and cloves, hints of banana, but rather bland compared to the brewery’s hefeweizens. |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy golden colour, large head. Lovely weissbier aroma, plenty of cloves, some banana too but not as much as in some other hefes. Cloves also in the flavour, which is light bodied, refreshing and not too sweet. A slightly lemony finish. A very enjoyable hefe! |

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml bottle, from Tesco Express, Belfast. ABV is 5%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Meaty aroma, notes of broth - weird. Bland and boring dry flavour - weak malts, and no sign of the Mosaic and Cascade hops. What a sick joke! |

2518 | Rogue Brutal IPA | United States | IPA | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden to orange colour, hazy, big white head. Very nice aroma of fruity Crystal hops, notes of oranges and tropical fruits. The flavour is distinctly hoppy from start to finish, "bitter" - well yes indeed, but not "brutal". Fairly dry, a more pronounced maltiness would not hurt. Still, a very pleasant and drinkable beer as it is. |
