2384 | FiftyFifty BART (2013-2014) | United States | Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared 650 ml bottle, in Nevada City, October 2015. The bottle looked exactly the same as the picture, so I assume this must be the correct beer (12% ABV, brewed with honey, no mention of being brewed with coffee nor vanilla). Dark brown colour, fairly sweet and alcoholic, notes of honey, chocolate, bourbon, molasses and coffee in aroma and flavour. A fairly impressive beer, but still not as great as I hoped. |

2385 | FiftyFifty Base Camp Golden Ale | United States | Blonde Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 The lightest of the ales of my flight of beers at the brewery tap. Pale golden colour, white head, nice lacing. Moderately citrussy in aroma and flavour, light bodied and refreshing as expected, not very exciting, but still with enough hops to make you want to finish the glass. |

2386 | FiftyFifty California Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.9

Well hopped throughout in aroma and flavour, predominantly citrussy notes, also moderate pine, but not too bitter. A well made APA, the way I like them. |

2387 | FiftyFifty Imperial Eclipse Stout - High West Single Malt Barrel | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared 650 ml bottle, in Nevada City. ABV was either 11.0% or 11.9%, my picture was not sharp enough to decide. Black colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour of roast malts, molasses, whiskey, oak, alcohol and smoke. All in all a fairly good beer, but a bit heavy handed to me. |

2391 | Fiine Lervig Premium. | Norway | Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Rerate, filtered and pasteurised, can: The size is not printed on the can (ommitting this is illegal in Norway), I suspect the size is 440 ml, not the usual 500 ml. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, decent head. Pleasant aroma of butterscotch and aromatic hops. Moderate carbonation. Flavour has toffee and butterscotch but also tolerable hops in the finish. Not bad. Original rating: Draught, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Unpasteurised, and allegedly unfiltered - but the beer was crystal clear. The pasteurised and filtered bottled version will be available from May 1. 2006. The unpasteurised keg was 1 week old upon sampling. Deep golden colour, like a Danish "Classic". Moderate head. Aroma and flavour of butterscotch (diacetyl), mellow and well rounded. Served by accident with a 100% CO2 carbonation, would normally be served with a 20% nitrogen and 80% oxygen mix. Will rerate if the bottled version is significantly different. |

2392 | Fink Bräu | Germany | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, at LIDL in Norway, as Fink Bräu Pilsner. ABV here is 4.7%, to comply with our 4.75% upper limit for beers sold in grocery stores. Not to be confused with the low ABV (2.1% and 2.8%) Fink Bräu "Pils" versions made for LIDL by Karlsberg Brauerei. Made of water, malts and hop extract. Clear very pale straw coloured, large head. Moderate aromatic hops. Flavour has some herbal spiciness, not much malts, thin mouthfeel, but a fairly liberal use of hop extract leads to a bitter finish. As far as discount pilseners / pale lagers go: I’ve had worse. |

2395 | Finnfestøl | Belgium | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. No GTIN code on the label, but the "Finnfest" commander general confirms that it is brewed by Van Steenberge. ABV is 4.5%. Ingredients include sugar. Clear pale golden colour, huge white head, no traces of sediment in the bottle. Sweetish "pale lager" aroma, notes of grass, some fruit and yeast. The flavour is moderately sweet with a somewhat sharp hoppy "bite" in the finish. Not a remarkably good beer, but drinkable. |
