Aroma of over-ripe pineapple and slightly decaying tropical fruits, also old orange marmalade. Lacks the characteristics I've come to expect from Nelson Sauvin and Motueka. The flavour has also an unfresh character, with notes of stale or decaying fruits. Some lactose(?) sweetness. Low bitterness. Clearly drinkable after all, but not as good as expected.

Roasty and medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, fusel is now less distinct, moderate hops. Very tasty beer.

Aroma of blackcurrants and lactic acid as expected, also some unexpected hints of broth, meat and spices. Light bodied. The flavour is not very sweet, but not extremely sour or tart either. Moderate notes of blackcurrants, fairly refreshing.

Medium sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness, a bit more would be a good idea. Warming throatfeel.

Keg halfpint at Craftsman Company / Excite the Enthusiast Coffee & Ale House, Aberdeen. ABV was said to be 9%, but this is almost certainly a version brewed in Scotland. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. The flavour is pleasantly sweet, with distinct notes of chocolate and vanilla. No sign of espresso coffee, so I wonder if this might be the allegedly retired ordinary Imperial Café Racer version at 8% ABV? Anyway, this is a lovely beer.
