2251 | Engelszell Gregorius Trappistenbier | Austria | Abbey Quadrupel | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Dec. 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting. Hazy dark brown colour. Moderate malty aroma with a hint of smoke. Rich and pleasant malty flavour. This is a doppelbock, not a Belgian strong ale! Not very sweet though, and the high ABV is well hidden. Hints of salt and smoke. |

2252 | Enghien Noël Triple Blonde | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 9%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, white kandi sugar, over-ripe fruits and mild spices. The flavour is sweet with a nice spicness and decent hops throughout, maybe too strong notes of white kandi sugar. Sweet enough to replace a sweet wine with many finer dishes, but has also enough bitterness to avoid being cloying, and retain some refreshing qualities. |

2253 | Epic Mash Up New Zealand Collaboration Ale | New Zealand | American Pale Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Nov. 2012: 500 ml bottle, nicked by hand from the rightful owner (who got it as a gift from New Zealand). ABV is 6.0%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of Nelson Sauvin hops (and probably other NZ hops), notes of white grapes and crushed gooseberries. Light bodied for its strength. The flavour has distinct notes of NZ hops, "herbal" and dry white wine and green gooseberries up front, pine in the finish. Good stuff. |

Pitch black colour, moderate to small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roast malts and cocoa. The flavour is not too sweet, but has distinct notes of the same elements as the aroma. Moderate hops. |

2256 | Erdinger Brauhaus Natur Radler | Germany | Fruit Beer | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml bottle, from Coop Extra, Sauda. ABV is 2.6%. Hazy and very pale yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of lemonade / lemon soda. Very sweet and "artificial" flavour of lemon soda. I'd rather have a straight lemonade. Not undrinkable though. |

2258 | Erdinger Festweisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Melkebaren, Sandnes. Hazy deep golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of cloves and other spices, hints of banana. The flavour is moderately spicy with just a hint of banana, moderate but noticeable hops. Has more going on than the "ordinary" Erdinger Hefe-Weissbier. |

2259 | Erdinger Kristall / Erdinger Weissbier Kristallklar (Weizen Crystal Clear) | Germany | Krystal Weizen | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (500 ml bottle). Large head, like the name says crystal clear, pale golden colour. This is a decent and thirst quenching summer beer (available all year) from Erdinger - but their Hefe has a little more of everything! Like all "Kristall" Wessbiers: Why filter away the goodies? |

2260 | Erdinger Pikantus | Germany | Weizenbock | 3.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (500 ml bottle). Enormous thick and lasting beige head, colour is very dark brown, cloudy. Aroma is immediately bread yeast, bread dough, fresh sweet buns. As the beer warms up, I also get rye bread, leather and caramel. Flavour is rye bread, caramel (too much), molasses, hints of roastiness and spices. Warming mouthfeel. There’s a very good beer hidden in here somewhere, but it remains unreleased. Sweetness is mostly to blame. |

2261 | Erdinger Schneeweisse Winterbier | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 3.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet, special orders). Like most Weissbiers it pours with an enormous head, this one is also very thick and creamy and lasts "forever". Colour of beer is cloudy brownish golden, a bit darker than most Hefe-Weissbiers. Very moderate and subdued hefe aroma, hints of leather. Flavour has bit more hops and less "banana & cloves" elements than your standard h.w. Fairly dry. A drinkable h.w., but not really remarkable. However, I love this style, and the Schneeweisse makes no exception. |

2262 | Erdinger Urweisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. When the beer is poured the glass fills completely with a huge white foam, which slowly lets a deep golden hazy beer emerge. Typical hefeweizen aroma with strong notes of cloves, also ripe bananas and bubblegum. The mouthfeel is slightly fuller than the ordinary Erdinger Hefe-Weissbier. The flavour has again sweetish notes of ripe bananas, also moderate notes of cloves. The finish is rather bland with minimal hops. |

2263 | Erdinger Weissbier (Mit Feiner Hefe) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Same beer as Erdinger Hefe Weissbier - a duplicate issue on BeerPal that needs to be amalgated. (In Europe this beer is simply called Erdinger Weissbier). Erdinger's best selling beer. Large head, hazy golden colour. Typical Hefe aroma. A refreshing and crisp summer beer (available all year). Maybe not a true masterpiece, but a nice Hefe all the same. I like it! |

2264 | Erdinger Weissbier Alkoholfrei | Germany | Reduced Alcohol | 1.6
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml bottle. Looks like a very pale Hefe-Weissbier, and for some reason I hoped a N/A Weissbier would be much better than other N/A beers. I was disappointed. Sickly "boiled" smell and flavour of wort, overdone vegetables and wet cardboard, just like Clausthaler. None of the Hefe aroma and "freshness" I hoped for. Avoid. |

2265 | Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel (Hefe-Weizen Dark) | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 4.0
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 (Draught) Good stuff - try it with a solid German meal! Rerate: I still think this is an excellent brew, but was too generous with the points the first time. Rerate bottle: Not as good as draught, but still good, even without a meal! - but I maintain that it's the perfect accompaniment with German pork dishes. Great lasting head, cloudy dark brown colour, moderate aroma and flavour of spices and lightly roasted malts. The guys who think it tastes like flat Coke should probably stick to Coke. |

2266 | Erdinger Weissbier Leicht | Germany | Hefeweizen | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 On tap, or possibly poured from bottle, at the Erdinger brewery. ABV is 2.9%. Aroma and flavour much like the "ordinary" Erdinger Weissbier, only lighter in character in all aspects. Surprisingly decent for such a light beer, much better than the Erdinger Alkoholfrei. |

2267 | Eriksberg | Sweden | Pale Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 50 cl bottle, as Eriksberg III, in a cafeteria in Charlottenberg, Sweden. ABV is 5.3%. Golden colour, big fluffy head. Fairly malty sweetish aroma, some flowery hops. The flavour has notes of alcohol, sweet malts and noticeable hops. Not too bad for a Swedish lager.. |

2269 | Estaminet Premium Pils | Belgium | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 On tap at Prachtig, Rotterdam. Golden colour, white head, some lacing. Standard pilsener aroma and flavour, some malts, herbal and floral notes. Moderate bitterness. Okay with my ravioli & gambas, but does not really stand out from the crowd. |

2270 | Estrella Damm 0.0% | Spain | Reduced Alcohol | 1.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can, from my local Rimi store. Pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. The usual n/a beer aroma of over-boiled vegetables, also notes of mown grass left to rot. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour has some weak notes of pilsener malts, and just the slightest hint of citrus, making the beer (nearly) drinkable when ice cold. Wet cardboard and dust in the aftertaste. |

2271 | Estrella Damm 4.6% | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 2007: 330 ml bottle, 4.6% ABV export version. Courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Also available in Norwegian grocery stores. Pale golden colour, decent head. Moderate citrussy aroma. The flavour is slightly citrussy and quite refreshing, without any offensive sidenotes. Very moderate hops in the finish. A light refreshment for a day in the Spanish sun - no more, no less. |

2272 | Estrella Damm 5.4% | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 Rerate, 500 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.4%. (Probably also had this on tap in Spain, without taking notes there.) Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts, boiled rice, newmown grass, hints of honey. Medium sweet flavour of malts, a hint of honey, moderate herbal hops in the finish. Not too bad. |

2273 | Estrella Damm Daura (Apta Para Celíacos) | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Estrella Damm Daura, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.4%. Suitable for coeliacs. Pale golden colour, big to moderate head. Sweetish aroma, not unpleasant though, notes of fruit and maize. The flavour is fairly sweet and fruity, with tolerable hops. Not too bad. |

2274 | Estrella Damm Inedit | Spain | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 4.8%. Pale straw colour, slightly hazy, huge to moderate white head. Moderate wheaty and citrussy aroma, with notes of coriander and orange peel, also a hint of liquorice (when you know it should be there). The flavour is moderately citrussy, with moderate notes of coriander. The liquorice is barely discernible in the flavour. Light bodied, not very sweet, with minimal hops. "Empty" finish, but an otherwise nice and refreshing beer. |

2275 | Estrella del Sur Sevilla | Spain | Pale Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 330 ml can, bought in Tenerife. Apparently Estrella del Sur originally was brewed (since 1959) in Sevilla, in one of the breweries bought and closed by the Damm group. Damm have kept the brand. Not to be confused with the 0.9% stronger Estrella Damm. Extremely pale crystal clear straw colour. Large and lasting foamy head. Pleasant fruity sweet aroma. Bland and uninteresting flavour, some faint unpleasant "boiled" sidenotes. Forgettable. |
