2176 | Eik & Tid Kimær | Norway | Wild Ale | 2.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml clear bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.8%. Beautiful clear red colour, small off-white pinkish head dies instantly. Fairly decent aroma of red berries. Like all beers from this brewery, the flavour has plenty of lactic acid, but this one is not nearly as extreme as the other beers I've had from them. Notes of sour red berries, particularly redcurrants. As expected no flavour of malts and hops. Not undrinkable, but I will not waste any more money on beers from this brewery. Of the 11 beers I've had, none of them have tempted me to buy again. |

2177 | Eik & Tid Skrekkelig Jul | Norway | Fruit Beer | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 330 ml clear bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.6%. Murky red colour, shortlived pink head. Aroma of lactic acid, fruityoghurt and blueberries. Sour flavour, lemons and lactic acid galore, also blueberries, just a hint of aquavit spices. Like most beers from this brewery, it is really too sour for me, but at least this one is not undrinkable. |

2178 | Einbecker Brauherren Premium Pilsener | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is a decent pils - lovely hoppy aroma (Saazer and Hallertau?), distinct but not unpleasant bitterness in the flavour (and I'm not a fanatical "hophead"), aftertaste OK. Very refreshing. I'm sure it's even better on tap. Recommended! |

2179 | Einbecker Dunkel (Schwarzbier) | Germany | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Reddish brown colour, bread yeast and just a hint of coffee in the aroma. Flavour leaves you with the impression of drinking this beer in a bakery (this is not necessarily an insult to the beer - it's probably an OK accompaniment with a few sandwiches or even Danish pastry). Drier than I expected. Not as good as the Einbecker Ur-Bock Dunkel (and not nearly as good as Aass Bock, which I enjoyed 1 hour earlier) - a bit watery, but still a drinkable dunkel that won't offend anyone. |

2180 | Einbecker Mai-Ur-Bock | Germany | Bock | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottles, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget). I drank the first bottle at cellar temperature, the second one at fridge temp. Extremely powerful mouthfeel in both cases, you’d think the beer was much stronger than its 6.5% ABV (in a blind test I’d probably say 10-11%). This means that the alcohol dominates, but the malts and hops are evident too. Colour is deep golden / amber, large white head. Moderate aroma of spices, caramel, molasses and hops, some oak and leather too. Moderately sweet with a dry and bitter hoppy finish. I preferred the Einbecker Ur-Bock Dunkel to this one. |

2182 | Einbecker Ur-Bock Hell | Germany | Bock | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 I expected more than I got from this beer, and was a bit disappointed. Low head, clear golden colour, pleasant hoppy aroma. Strong alcohol presence. Bitter flavour, close to tart. Far from outstanding. I guess I'm a "Bocks are dark"-guy. |

2183 | Einstök Icelandic Doppelbock | Iceland | Doppelbock | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep ruby colour, large beige head. Malty aroma, notes of bakery, caramel and brown bread. Malty flavour too, moderately sweet, notes of caramel, Danish pastry and brown bread, hints of chocolate. Modest hops, as expected from the style. This is more of a Dark Bock than a Doppelbock, though. Nice to drink, whatever you call it. |

2186 | Einstök Icelandic White Ale | Iceland | Witbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, from the taxfree store at Billund Airport, Denmark. ABV is 5.2%, 12.8% Plato. Practically clear and very pale yellow colour, moderate to low white head. Strong aroma of grassy and herbal German or Czech pilsener hops, no sign of this being a witbier. Dry and crisp flavour, now with citrussy notes (lemon/lime rather than orange peel), but still not much witbier character. Refreshing though - my rating is, as always, hedonistic - if I rated by style, the score would be lower. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Dark brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown bread and sprucetips, a hint of salt, whisky and smoke. The flavour is malty and sweet, but not too much. Distinct notes of sprucetips, also notes of caramel and brown bread, hints of prunes, whisky, smoke and salt. Unusual and interesting. |

2188 | Ekangersmuget Holigong! | Norway | IPA | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. Cloudy golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma, notes of citrus, pine and spruce, some spicy notes too. Soft carbonation. The flavour has first a slight sweetness, then grapefruity and resinous hops take over the show, and last through the long and bitter aftertaste. |

A decent robust porter. |

2193 | Ekspedisjonen Bitter Harding | Norway | Blonde Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at the brewpub. The brewer calls this an IPA, but it tastes more like a modern English Golden Ale or Bitter. Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate but nice hoppy aroma, citrussy notes. Pleasant flavour, refreshing, moderate but nice bitterness. |

2195 | Ekspedisjonen Raud Harding | Norway | Irish Ale | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 On tap at the brewpub. This was the brewpub’s first beer, brewed with the intention "to please everybody", according to the brewer, Olav H. Helleland. Amber colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of toffee. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has notes of caramel and toffee. Very moderate hops. |

2196 | Ekspedisjonen Staut Harding | Norway | Porter | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at the brewpub. Despite the name, this is not a stout, nor was it intended to be. The brewer says it’s "more like a porter", and I won’t protest to that - but I wouldn’t protest if someone called it a "dark mild" or even a "fairly dark brown ale" either. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Nice aroma and flavour with mild roasty notes, hints of mild coffee and chocolate. Flavour of caramel malts too. |

2197 | EKU 28 | Germany | Eisbock | 2.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 3 Some initially pleasant oak and malts flavours are soon overwhelmed by a revolting alcoholic syrupy sweetness, making it almost impossible to finish a bottle. The eisbock style is not something I'll sample again - unless it's for free. |

2198 | EKU Pilsner | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (5 liter mini-keg, bought in Norway, ABV was 4.9%). Moderate aroma of hay, light golden colour, enormous head when poured from the mini-keg - like the head of a weissbier. Clean crisp flavour, good bitterness makes this a better-than-average pilsener. The mini-keg is great for parties! |

Strong sweetish aroma of malts and grass. Malty flavour, a little caramel in the background, acceptable herbal hops in the finish. |
