330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 5.9%. Clear and deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of brown malts, brown bread and some caramel. The flavour has fairly distinct caramel, but is not too sweet. Also notes of brown bread and nuts. Low bitterness. Not bad, but not exceptional.

330 ml bottle, from Coop Extra Tau. ABV is 4.6%. Clear and very pale golden colour, small white head. Moderate aroma of grain and some citric hops. Lagerish mouthfeel (well, it IS a lager). Reasonably fresh flavour, not too sweet, a little citrus, low bitterness. A half-decent summer refreshment, no more, no less.

330 ml bottle, from Coop Extra Jørpeland. ABV is 4.6%. Nearly clear pale golden colour, large to moderate white head. Distinct sweetish aroma of ginger, grain and malts, a hint of lime. Light bodied. The flavour is not too sweet, there is a distinct ginger and chili burn, again only a hint of lime. Not really great, but at least it feels nice to have a "ginger beer" that actually is a beer, and not a n/a mixer.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts and grassy and floral hops, some yeasty esters too. Slightly sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Low bitterness. Not undrinkable, but uninteresting.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, shared with my son, from Coop Extra Støperigården. ABV is 4.6%. Hazy golden colour with a pinkish hue, large white head. Aroma and flavour of raspberries, peaches and grape juice. Minimal bitterness. Not something I'll buy again.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.4%. Slightly hazy pale straw colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple, citrus and passionfruit. Citric flavour, notes of pineapple and passionfruit again, some sweetness, but not as much as I feared. Moderate hops. Refreshing.

Cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. Dark mild. Aroma of prunes, hints of cigarbox. Well rounded flavour, lightly roasted, hints of liquorice. Nice.

Jan. 2018: 500 ml bottle conditioned, as ELB Golden Ale, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4.8%. Hazy golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of fruity hops, also some unfresh notes of stale marmalade and grain, a hint of spices. The flavour is citric with a bitter and slightly woody finish, but not as fresh as desirable.

Feb. 2018: 330 ml bottle conditioned Strong Ale, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 8.5%. Amber to brown colour, clear first, hazy when the yeast is poured in. Moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruits and caramelized orange marmalade, also nutty notes. Medium sweet and malty flavour, again notes of dark dried fruits, caramel, nuts and caramelized marmalade. Moderate hops in the finish. Slightly warming mouthfeel.

Jan. 2018: 500 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4%, Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of grain, malts and toffee, a hint of fruity hops. The flavour has citrussy hops on a light body with some malts, but not sweet. Medium bitter aftertaste. Easy drinking.

May 2019: Rerate: Cask 1/3 pint at the 46th Cambridge Beer Festival, 2019. Black colour, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and oatmeal. Smooth flavour, medium sweet, chocolate and oatmeal again, low bitterness. Original rating: Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, from Oddbins Chiswick. BB 06/2014. ABV is 5.8%. Black colour, minimal tan head. Aroma of oats, chocolate and mild coffee. Smooth flavour, oats, coffee and chocolate again, also liquorice.

Jan. 2018: 500 ml bottle conditioned, as Walthamstow Beer Green Hopped Pale Ale, brewed by the East London Brewing Company. ABV is 4.4%. From Ales By Mail. Golden colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate to small white head. Aroma of herbal and grassy hops. Light bodied. The flavour has a slight fruity acidity, a very slight sweetness, and herbal and earthy hops. Not bad, but no winner.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Brown colour, moderate to low off-white head. Strong aroma of star anise (which I tend to hate) and other spices, but not godawful. Spicy flavour, star anise again. The mouthfeel is not very full. Not a great beer.

Moderate aroma of malts, caramel and slightly spicy Belgian ale yeast. Flavour of caramel and brown bread with syrup, some sourish hints.

Moderate aroma of malts, a hint of caramel and prunes. Malty flavour, some caramel but not too sweet, notes of brown bread, smooth and easy drinking.

Soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Moderately sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma, hints of coffee, moderate bittering hops.
