1976 | Disko Brutus Bayer | Norway | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 October 2019: 330 ml can, as Disko Brutus Bayer, from Bris Ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%, IBU 25. Reddish brown colour, enormous beige head that lasts "forever", takes quite a while before I reach the beer underneath. Aroma of malts, brown bread and caramel. Malty flavour too, brown bread and caramel again. Fair enough. |

1982 | Dithmarscher Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml fliptop / swingtop bottle, bought in Germany. Copper coloured, large and lasting offwhite head, nice lacing. Pleasant malty, slightly roasty and caramel aroma, notes of rye bread, some aromatic hops too. Flavour is reasonably malty and slightly roasty, hints of smoke and caramel. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Allegedly this beer is brewed according to an authentic 16th century "Braunbier" recipe (those were most likely top fermented, though - this one is bottom fermented) - at any rate it is well worth sampling! |

1984 | Djaevlebryg Nekron Stout | Denmark | Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5% - unless there is a typo on the rear bottle label (brewery website says 8.5%). Pitch black colour, big brown head. Fine aroma of tar and strong coffee, also hints of smoke, salt water and liquorice. The flavour is smoky and salty with notes of tar and strong bitter coffee. Also bitter hops in the finish. Quite dry. Good stuff, but I’d like a little more sweetness. |

1985 | Djaevlebryg Old Mephisto | Denmark | English Barleywine | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. "Best before" date: The Day of Judgement! ABV is 10.5%. Deep copper to brown colour, big beige head. Strong sweetish aroma, notes of raisins and dark dried fruits, oak, fortified wine, caramel and brown sugar. The flavour is very sweet and vinous, with basically the same elements as in the aroma. Moderate hops in the finish. Good, but sweet enough to make one small glass enough for one sitting. The 500 ml bottle is for sharing! |

1986 | Djaevlebryg Pride Of Nekron | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 10.5%. Black colour, big to moderate brown head. Lovely roasty aroma, notes of roasted barley, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of dark syrup and liquorice. The flavour is intensely sweet and roasty, strong notes of dark syrup and brown sugar, dark malts, coffee, raisins and dark chocolate. Warming mouthfeel. Moderately bitter aftertaste. Good, but a bit too far out on the sweet and syrupy side to get a full score. |

1988 | Djævlebryg Gudeløs | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.6
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 8.9%. Ingredients include 6 kinds of barley malts, roasted barley, 3 kinds of hops, demerara sugar, black syrup and raisin syrup (+ water and yeast, of course). Pitch black colour, huge brown head. Roasty and somewhat sweetish aroma, notes of dark malts, syrup, bakery, coffee and chocolate, hints of liquorice. Sweet and roasty flavour, notes of strong coffee, dark and pale malts (with a good deal of residual sugar) and dark syrup, with a distinct hoppy and roasty bitterness in the aftertaste, hints of English liquorice. Regard it as an atheist product or as a gift of God - this is under any circumstance a mighty powerful beer! |

1993 | Dog In The Fog | Poland | Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 500 ml can, bought in Poland. Golden colour, large white head. Flowery sweet aroma, candy notes too. Flavour is unusually sweet for a pale lager, sugary and artificial candy notes. Hardly any bitterness. Barely escaped being poured down the drain. |

1994 | Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA | United States | Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. Orange to amber colour, low off-white head. Extreme and intense aroma of American hops, on a background of sweet malts. Sweet flavour, too sweet maybe, the sweetness kind of overwhelms the intense hoppiness. Still, this is a top division beer. |

1998 | Dogfish Head Olde School Barleywine | United States | American Barleywine | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 12 fl. oz. bottle, thanks to my son Steinar. Orange to amber coloured beer, clear first, hazy when the sediment is poured in the end. Big off-white head with an orangey hue. Strong aroma of malts with vinous notes, oak, alcohol and molasses. The flavour is intensely sweet and alcoholic, notes of oak and figs, with a certain peppery and hoppy bite which nearly disappears behind the alcoholic sweetness. You don’t expect a 15% beer to be "easy drinking", and this one certainly isn’t. Too sweet for me, still quite impressive. Would probably improve by aging. |
