76 | 8 Wired Tall Poppy | New Zealand | Amber Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Cloudy amber to brown colour, large and creamy off-white head. Lovely aroma of fruity (particularly grapefruit) and piney American hops (Warrior, Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo). The flavour is distinctly piney and resinous, the hops immediately take command of the malts in the background. Not very sweet, dry and bitter finish. |

77 | 8 Wired The Big Smoke | New Zealand | Smoked Ale | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Shared 500 ml gusher bottle at local tasting. Nearly black colour, large off-white head. Dryish and "thin" smokey aroma, notes of smoked meat, woody hints too. Too much carbonation. Smokey and dry flavour too, mild roasty notes in the background. |

78 | 8 Wired The Sultan | New Zealand | Abbey Quadrupel | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.0%. Cloudy dark brown colour, moderate but lasting off-white head. Moderate aroma of sultanas, oaked fortified wine, rum-raisin and liqueur-filled chocolates. The flavour is oaky / woody with notes of sultanas / raisins and other dark dried fruits, but not nearly as sweet as I feared. The hops are very moderate. Nice and drinkable, but has not quite the complexity of best Belgian ales in the abt / quadrupel style. Still well worth sampling. |

79 | A. Le Coq Jouluporter | Estonia | Baltic Porter | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 (0,5 liter bottle.) Whooa... an Estonian Christmas porter, available in Norway, even! This one is 1% stronger and more spicy than their ordinary porter , to obtain a "real" Christmas character. Dark brown colour, low head, lightly roasted spicy coffee aroma and flavour, decent bitterness in the aftertaste. Lots of delicious flavour and sufficient alcohol here, still a slightly thinner mouthfeel than some other porters (probably because it's bottom fermented) - which, however, will not stop me from buying this goody again. I had it on its own, must also be a great accompaniment with Nordic Christmas fare in the rougher end of the scale. Sweet, but not too much. All in all a Christmas beer to be recommended. |

80 | A. Le Coq Porter | Estonia | Baltic Porter | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 (500 ml bottle). Reddish brown colour, decent head. Aroma of caramel and leather. Not as sweet as I expected. Malty caramel flavour with just a slight roastiness, in a blind test I would surely classify this beer as a strong dunkel, not a Baltic porter. Relatively thin bodied, not nearly as good as their Jõuluporter (Christmas Porter). Disappointing for its style, if disregarding style you may find this as a decent and drinkable beer. |

Aroma of coffee and moderately roasted malts, hints of rum and oak. Distinct flavour of coffee, roast malts, rum and oak. Medium bitter finish. |

82 | Aarhus Bøgeøl | Denmark | English Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 600 ml bottle, as Aarhus Bøgeøl, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, berry notes, hints of toffee. The flavour is medium sweet and malty, but also with distinct notes of fruity hops, again with a touch of berries and toffee. "Dusty" aftertaste. Quite nice beer. |

83 | Aarhus Drageblod | Denmark | Belgian Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 600 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 7%. Dark brown to mahogany colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of ripe red fruits, caramel and bakery. The flavour is fruity and medium sweet, with plenty of malts and caramel, decent hops in the finish. Very enjoyable. |

85 | Aarhus Julebryg | Denmark | Spiced Beer | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 600 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.0%. Copper colour, moderate off-white head. Nice aroma of orange peel and hops, hints of spices. Refreshing flavour, notes of oranges, cloves and hops, nice bitterness in the finish. Quite enjoyable. Must be excellent with the Danish Christmas duck. |

86 | Aarhus Sommer-Hvede (Filtered) | Denmark | American Wheat | 3.2
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 600 ml bottle (summer 2010), from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, the bottled beer is apparently fitered (the draught version is unfiltered). Moderate but lasting white head. Ingredients include wheat malt, unrefined cane sugar, orange peel and coriander. In other words, kind of a hybrid between Belgian witbier and German Kristallweizen. Spicy aroma, notes of Belgian ale yeast, citrus and green apples. Refreshing flavour, tolerable hops with hints of coriander and citrus, some less pleasant dusty and metallic notes in the aftertaste. |

87 | Aass After Beach | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml clear bottle. ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, big white head. Weak aroma, notes of wheat and citrus. The flavour is moderately sweetish and slightly wheaty with just a hint of citrus, nearly void of any bitterness. Boring and overpriced. Might possibly be the same beer as Aass After Ski, with a different label? The brewery denies this, though. |

88 | Aass After Ski | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 330 ml clear bottle, thanks to Ole_R. Pale yellow colour, big head. Heineken-like aroma (an American would say "skunked") - Heineken is slightly better though, hints of citrus and maize baby porridge. The flavour is slightly lemony and wheaty, and could probably be called "refreshing" if drunk colder than I did. Minimal hops. Soft and thin mouthfeel. After a long day of skiing (or other open air activities) I would want a better beer than this one, that’s for sure. |

89 | Aass Bayer | Norway | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 (Also known as Aass Dark.) A quite acceptable Norwegian Bayer, but not as rich flavour as I expected. Rerate: This beer grows on you - the bitterness and burnt tastenotes make this beer probably the best all-year Norwegian beer for the grocery store market (ABV < 4.75%) there is. |

90 | Aass Bayer Uten | Norway | Reduced Alcohol | 1.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle. Copper coloured beer with a big off-white head. Typical n/a beer aroma with the usual sickly "boiled" notes (baby porridge, over-boiled vegetables), also some more pleasant hints of bakery and caramel. The flavour is bland and boring, again those sickly "boiled" notes, too much sweetness. A slight bitterness in the finish. Not for me this one. |

91 | Aass Bock | Norway | Bock | 4.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 The ABV in Norway is 6,5%. This is the best Norwegian beer you can get. Beautiful, very dark reddish brown colour, moderate carbonation. Complex aroma and flavour, hints of spices, oak and liqourice. Very well balanced. Great aftertaste. |

92 | Aass Classic Lager | Norway | Vienna / Amber Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 ABV in Norway is 4.5%. I'm sure the (slightly stronger) export version is even better, if you get it fresh. This beer is basically a pilsener (Saaz hops), but brewed with a certain amount of Munich malts to give it some of the rounded flavour of a Munich dunkel. Not a bad marriage, I'd say. |

95 | Aass Fab (Fabulous) | Norway | Fruit Beer | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 (330 ml bottle.) Women are the target group for this new beer, and women also took part in choosing the cloudberry flavour profile. Golden colour, moderate to low head. Artificial smelling cloudberry and raspberry aroma. Flavour is a standard "neutral" lager, with some artificial cloudberry and raspberry flavour added. Nice try, but this is nothing to seek out. |

97 | Aass Fatøl Light | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 1.9
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 Norwegian "light" beer always means low alcohol (<2,5% ABV). This is another "draught" (actually bottled) beer which means that it's marginally darker than an ordinary pils or light beer. It is, after all, not the worst example of this lousy style. Still, avoid it if you don't have to drive! |

98 | Aass Genuine Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 In Norway it's only 4.5% ABV. Regarded as an average pils here, but it's actually quite clean tasting and decent as far as Norwegian pilseners go. Crisp, refreshing. The somewhat stronger export version is of course more powerful and probably slightly better. |

100 | Aass Gourmet Lys Hvete | Norway | Krystal Weizen | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml green bottle. Clear golden colour, large white head. Grainy aroma with notes of over-boiled vegetables, nearly like a n/a beer. The flavour is somewhat better, some wheaty and lemony notes. Very moderate hops. Drinkable, but not impressive at all - a "gourmet" would ask for something better than this. |
