826 | Bell's Batch 10,000 Ale | United States | Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 9.2%. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of molasses and oak. The flavour is better than batch 6000, less sweet (but still sweet enough) with a more distinct hop profile, notes of oak and tobacco. |

829 | Belle-Vue Kriek | Belgium | Fruit Lambic | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 375 ml corked bottle, champagne style, bought in Prague. Label says: P.H. Wandenstock Belle-Vue Kriek Lambic. ABV is 5.1%. Brewed by Interbrew Belgium, distributed in the Czech Republic by Staropramen. Beautiful red colour, large pink foamy head. Lovely aroma of sour cherries. Flavour is of course sour cherries too, initially sweet, with a hint of hops. Not very complex, and the finish is surprisingly short. |

833 | Belvoir Melton Red | United Kingdom | Amber Ale | 4.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.3%. This beer is apparently named after the original idea of "painting the town red" (see label). Listen, taggers and other vandals: it might have seemed funny the first time, but it’s not funny any more! The beer is more brown than red, slightly hazy, and pours with a moderate to low head. Are you sure this beer is not bottle conditioned? Moderate carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Pleasant aroma of malts, earth, caramel, blackcurrant leaves and dark fruits. Flavour is perfectly balanced between the malts and hops, not too sweet, despite some caramel in the background - no off-flavours here: Melton Red tastes like BEER, and a damn good one too! |

835 | Benediktiner Weissbier | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 (March 30, 2014) 500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark, probably at Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is 5.4%. BB date 20.07.13. Hazy orange colour, large white head. Smells a bit "off", sweetish notes of malts and caramel, only hints of banana and cloves. The flavour is somewhat better, malty character, not too sweet, but again the typical hefeweizen notes of "banana & cloves" are very subdued. Lacks some of the "freshness" of a better hefeweizen, Might buy a fresher bottle at another occasion, to re-rate. |

845 | Berentsens Bryggeren & Kokken Pale Ale | Norway | American Pale Ale | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 330 ml can, from Coop Extra Prestemarka, Tau. ABV 4.7%, IBU 25. Slightly hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of pine, hints of grapefruit and oranges. The flavour is distinctly piney / resinous and "dusty", with less distinct notes of said fruits. Appears unfresh and unpleasant. Not a beer I'll buy again. A pity Berentsens could not make a better show of it. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle. Deep golden colour, moderate head. Moderate aroma of hops and caramel. Flavour has some toffee and and a hoppy bitter finish, drinkable but not that interesting. Hope they brew something better for their next "jubilee"! (Berentsens are new as a brewery, they have produced industrial "ciders" for 10 years or so, and soft drinks for 110 years.) |
