727 | Bath Barnstormer | United Kingdom | Extra Special Bitter | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Cask conditioned at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004. Deep copper coloured. Roasted malts, fruit and chocolate. Flavourwise if fits in the gap between a premium bitter and a porter, proving that "styles" are not an accurate science. Good beer. |

737 | Bavaria 8.6 Special Blond Beer | Netherlands | Strong Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 March 2006: 650 ml very dark blueish green bottle, bought in France. ABV is 7.9%. Golden colour, large lasting head, decent lacing. Malty and fruity aroma with some alcoholic notes, but not unpleasant. Hints of oak and leather. Flavour is very sweet, but surprisingly it is not as repulsive as many other (often less sweet) golden strong lagers. Tolerable hops obviously contribute to a (nearly) acceptable balance. Moderate carbonation. I’ve had worse beers. |

740 | Bavik Pilaarbijter Blonde | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.4
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, thanks to Beer2000. ABV is 7.5%. BB 07/12/09. The glass is first filled by a huge foamy white head, then a cloudy brownish golden beer slowly emerges. Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, over-ripe and rotting berries, artificial candy and fermenting fruits, verging on "sickly". The flavour is sweet (maybe too sweet), yeasty and spicy, some notes of decaying fruits again. A moderate spicy bitterness in the finish. |

Dark brown colour, big to moderate off-white to beige head. Nice aroma of malts, fresh bread and fruity and floral hops. The flavour is quite fruity and refreshing for a dunkel, the malts are there, but the beer is not too sweet. Low bitterness, but scores high on drinkability. |

749 | Beamish Irish Stout | Ireland | Dry Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Smoother than Guinness, very drinkable. A stout recommended for beginners. Rerate: ...which doesn't in any way imply that Beamish hasn't a lot to offer the experienced stout drinker as well. Aroma is better than Guinness, and the flavour is outstanding too. I simply suggested that the prejudiced anti-stout drinker might find out that he/she actually likes it. |
