7258 | Wittekerke Rose | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 250 ml nip bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 4.3%. Cloudy pink colour, big off-white / pale pink head. Strong aroma of raspberry juice and raspberry jam. The flavour is sweet but still refreshing, with plenty of raspberry juice and just a hint of hops. Golden colour, lagerish carbonation, but the white head is low. Sweetish fruity aroma, also notes of maize (corn). Lagerish mouthfeel, light bodied. Medium sweet flavour, maize and a little fruit, ending in a sharp and rather unpleasant bitterness. Little hop flavour besides the bitterness. As I don’t suffer from coeliac disease, this is not a beer I will buy again. |
