676 | Ballast Point Big Eye IPA | United States | IPA | 2.9
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 355 ml bottle, from Fakta Hirtshals. BB date is hard to read, but probably 25.03.2014. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber colour, moderate to low head, slightly off-white. Strong and unpleasant aroma of stale orange marmalade and rotting fruits and vegetables. Distinctly hoppy and resinous flavour, better than the aroma, not too sweet, with a solid bitterness in the finish. |

690 | Baltika 4 (Original) | Russia | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.6%. Copper coloured beer with a decent beige head. Interesting aroma of lightly roasted malts, caramel and fruit. The flavour is very malty and sweet (the maltose syrup shows its presence), but there is also some fruitiness. Plenty of caramel, hints of rye bread. Low bitterness. A bit too much sweetness for me, but definitely drinkable. |

694 | Baltika 8 (Wheat) | Russia | Hefeweizen | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway. Some sediment in bottle, pours with a typical enormous weissbier head. Pale straw coloured, just a slight haziness. Strong typical hefe-weissbier aroma, distinct cloves and banana-flavoured sweets, very nice. Light bodied, thinner mouthfeel than many German hefe-weissbiers, but refreshing. Cloves and moderate hops in the aftertaste. Not bad for a Russian macro brewery. |

695 | Bangla | United Kingdom | Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 660 ml bottle, as Bangla Premium Beer, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Very cool design of bottle and label. Brewed and bottled in the UK for LWC Ltd., Manchester, M11 2ER. Pale yellow colour, big white head. Fairly nice flowery aroma. The flavour is rather sweet with noticeable pilsener malts, bordering on "sugary", but not quite there. Some floral notes, hints of alcohol but not disturbingly so. Low bitterness. Not a great beer, but not awful either, should be acceptable to wash down a curry. |

698 | Banks and Taylor Edwin Taylors Extra Stout | United Kingdom | Dry Stout | 4.1
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. Black (and I mean BLACK) colour, even when held to the light. Aroma has some dark chocolate, coffee and wood. Roast malt flavour. Hints of tar in the finish. Dry, woody aftertaste. This is not a stout of the "smooth and velvety" kind, but an interesting aquaintance indeed! |
