Distinct aroma of citrus (tangerine) and tropical fruits (mango), also notes of spruce. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is fruity but not too sweet, with the same elements as the aroma. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Well balanced and pleasant to drink.

A bit "unclean" aroma of various over-ripe tropical fruits. The flavour has some citrus in addition to said "unclean" notes of over-ripe tropical fruits, but lacks freshness and bitterness.

440 ml can, from KWM Wines & Spirits. ABV is 5.0%. Hazy and "dirty" pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and citrus, a hint of spruce. Citric mouthfeel and flavour, also notes of tropical fruits, sprucetips and pine needles, moderate bitterness. Pleasant to drink, juicy but not too sweet.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, coffee, dark chocolate, a hint of liquorice. Dry flavour with the same elements as the aroma, moderate and well balanced bittering hops. Straight up indeed, and moreish. Simply a good beer.

Slightly dry and distinctly fruity flavour (tropical fruits again), with a piney / resinous and medium bitter finish. Well balanced

Aroma of pine, spruce and sweat, a hint of grapefruit. Citric mouthfeel and flavour, light bodied, not too sweet Refreshing and grapefruity, also hints of pine needles.

Aroma of citrus / tangerine, hints of coconut and pineapple. Medium sour flavour, with lactic acid and the same elements as the aroma, low bitterness.

440 ml can, as Vocation Special Edition Toucan Tropic DDH IPA, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 6.7%. Moderately hazy yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Moderate aroma of tropical fruits and citrus. The flavour has a lot more going on, distinct notes of various tropical fruits, also citrus, yellow stonefruits and pine needles. Moderate sweetness, very well balanced and enjoyable.

Aroma of passionfruit, hints of mango and citrus. Citric flavour, passionfruit in the background. Low bitterness. Refreshing and easy drinking.

April 2019: 500 ml on tap, as Alexander Hefeweizen, at Oliver restaurant, Tallinn. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Classical hefeweizen notes of banana and cloves in both aroma and flavour, slightly sweet.

1 imperial pint can with gold foil top, as Volfas-Engelman Bohemijos Tamsusis, from EkoMarket Bryne. ABV is 4.2%. Clear and beautiful reddish brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and brown bread. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly sweet, again with notes of malts, caramel and brown bread, very moderate hops, as expected from the style.

330 ml can, bought in Spain. ABV is 7.2%. Golden colour, large white head. Decent floral aroma, hints of malts and some fruit. Low carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is sweet, malty and alcoholic, hints of honey, some bitterness in the finish. Too sweet for me, really, but not undrinkable. I drank it at cellar temperature, possibly slightly better if colder.

March 2022: 750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, at a steep price. ABV is 6.8%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, pours sparkling with a moderate but shortlived white head. Pleasant aroma of "spicy" apple varieties and Citra hops. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Flavour again of "spicy" apples and moderate hops, medium dry, moderately sour, but less citric than I expected. Some tannins, slightly astringent finish, hints of sulphites.

Nearly clear golden colour, pours vigorously sparkling with a large but shortlived white head. Aroma of apples, apple skin, oak, funk, farmhouse kitchen. Bone dry flavour (it really is "brut"), apples, oak, funk.

Dry-ish aroma of quince and herbs, apples in the background. Very dry and crisp flavour of quince and apples, a hint of sulphites.

750 ml corked & caged dark bottle, as Von Wiesen Rosé Brut 2018, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.7%. Gusher bottle, pours vigorously sparkling with a large but rapidly diminishing white head. Pink to orange colour of the cider. Aroma of apples, redcurrants and blackcurrants, hints of farmhouse, oak and sulphites. Medium sweetness, the flavour has again notes of apples, redcurrants and blackcurrants, some fruity acidity, hints of oak and sulphites.

330 ml can, from Nærbutikken, Åkrafjordtunet. ABV is 4.7%. Murky brownish-golden colour, moderate to small white head. Fruity aroma of kveik, with notes of yellow plums, also notes of juniper and pine. Citric flavour, followed by notes of juniper and resin, hints of yellow plums, distinct bitterness in the finish.

330 ml can, as Voss Fellesbryggeri Slusk, from Vaaland, Bryne. Brewed with kveik from Voss. ABV is 4.7%. Cloudy orange-brown colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of pine, juniper and yeast. Fruity and moderately sweet flavour, hints of plums and juniper, moderate bitterness.

RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Lithuanian farmhouse ale, makeshift bottled (plastic) at the brewery 2 weeks ago. Hazy dark golden to amber colour. Yeasty aroma with very interesting notes of spices (ginger, cloves, cardamom, juniper berries). Sweetish and mildly spicy flavour, notes of bread yeast. Unusual.

Draught at Pivni Galerie, Prague. The PG beer list says ABV is 4.9%, but the brewery website says 4.5%. Plato is 11%. "Havran" seems to mean "raven" in English, acccording to the website. Black colour, moderate tan head. Nice lacing. Malty aroma with notes of leather, liquorice and tobacco. Easily drinkable, moderate but nice roastiness, hints of liquorice. A slight sweetness in the aftertaste. Very good.

Rerate, cask at The Shipwrights, North Hylton, Sunderland. A nice little beer, this one. Aroma a bit like Marston’s Pedigree, but less pronounced. Smooth and mellow, fruit and nuts in the flavour. No true "masterpiece", but certainly a drinkable pint.
