627 | Bådin Moloen | Norway | Saison | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 December 2015: 330 ml bottle, batch #47, from the brewery. ABV is 5.6%, 50 IBU. Golden colour, clear first, hazy when the yeast is poured. Large white head. Spicy and fruity aroma, also notes of salt water and herbs. Spicy and herbal flavour, probably both from the yeast and the hops (Galaxy and Pacific Gem), neither too sweet nor too dry, citrussy and slightly salty finish. Good beer. January 2024: Sampled on tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Still a very nice saison. |

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Malty and nutty (hazelnut) aroma, also notes of caramel and chocolate. Nutty and fruity (raisins) flavour, also chocolate, some sweetness but not too much. Low bitterness. I am sceptical to beers with hazelnut essence added, but I liked this one! |

639 | Baird Asian Beauty Biwa Ale | Japan | Fruit Beer | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 633 ml bottle, vintage 2009, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6%. Deep golden to amber colour, big and lasting off-white head. Interesting and unusual fruity aroma, which probably is due to the biwa fruit, but also fruity hops. The flavour is zesty and fruity, but not very sweet nor sour, with distinct hops in the dry finish. Some woody notes in the aftertaste. A very drinkable beer! |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, vintage 2007, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy brownish orange colour, big and lasting off-white head with a pale orange hue. Fairly strong sweetish aroma with notes of candied fruits (figs, actually), caramel and malts, hints of cinnamon. The flavour has notes of cinnamon and other mild spices, figs, caramel and malts, great sweetness nicely balanced by decent hops in the finish. Some alcoholic warmth, but not dominant. Some wood in the aftertaste. An interesting beer, pleasant to drink. |

643 | Bakaláø Svetlý Lezák 12° (Premium) | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml brown bottle, a gift from gunnar, thanks. ABV is 5%. BB date 30.12.10. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strange aroma of cooked vegetables, decaying fruit, malts and dust. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour has much the same elements as the aroma, dry and dusty, pretty weird - but some fresh hops in the finish make the drinking experience more tolerable. |

645 | Baladin Isaac | Italy | Witbier | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml corked and waxed bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, large white head. The aroma is distinctly spicy and rather yeasty, notes of coriander, hay and citrus. Fairly light bodied. The flavour is medium dry and refreshing with notes of coriander (less prominent citrus), short finish. A decent enough witbier - but is it that much better than other witbiers to make the higher price acceptable? |

Slightly hazy orange to amber colour, large to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of grain, dust, marmalade and broth. Flavour of citrus, orange marmalade, grapefruit, pine, still with unwanted hints of broth. Medium bitter. The flavour is, after all, better than the aroma, but this is not a beer I'll buy again. |

649 | Baladin Nazionale | Italy | Blonde Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Very yeasty and very spicy aroma, strong notes of coriander and cloves. Very dry flavour, very yeasty and very spicy again. As I am not Italian, Teo Musso & Co. will have to forgive me for not being emotional about all ingredients being Italian home grown. A drinkable beer of course, just not Baladin’s best. |
