500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 4.6%. Golden colour, big to moderate white head. Nice aroma of floral and fruity hops, "dusty" malts in the background. The flavour is fruity, on a background of fairly sweet pale malts, ending in a very moderate bitterness. Like other Badger bottled beers: refreshing and drinkable, but does not blow your socks off.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.0%. Deep golden to amber colour, big to moderate and slightly off-white lasting head. Moderate aroma of malts with some herbal and spicy notes (probably from the First Gold hops), hints of orange marmalade and caramel. The flavour has moderate malts with some notes of caramel, and fairly nice spicy and herbal hops again. Moderately bitter aftertaste.

Rerate, 500 ml brown bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.4%. Clear and reddish brown colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brittle, burnt breadcrumbs and earthy hops, hints of forest, moss and dark berries. The flavour has again malts, caramel and burnt breadcrumbs, followed by earthy hops. Bitter and roasty aftertaste. I'm upping the score a little. Original rating: 500 ml bottle, from the fridge (= too cold) at Arnie’s Coffee Bar / Bistro, Whitby. ABV was 4.4%. Brown colour, fizzy, minimal head. Reasonably hoppy aroma with some "boiled" malty notes. Brown ale flavour, some caramel and toffee. Oct. 2016: Cask half pint at The Eel Pie, Twickenham. Deep golden to copper colour, small white head. Toffee and fruity aroma. Fruity flavour, hints of currants, medium dry. Very moderate hops.

(500 ml bottle). Deep golden colour, good head. Nice hoppy and elderflower aroma. Elderflower is probably what I get in the flavour too, but I've never eaten elderflowers, so I can't really tell. There's some caramel and a reasonably decent hoppiness, but it's a bit too sweet IMO. A bit alcoholic too, despite only 5% ABV.

Distinct and beguiling aroma of ripe peaches / peach flowers, even peach candy - not quite what you expect in a beer, though. The flavour is fruity with moderate notes of peaches and zesty hops (can’t identify the alleged notes of melons). Not too sweet, not too bitter (actually, slightly MORE bitterness wouldn’t hurt). Soft mouthfeel, refreshing and pleasant to drink. A nice change-of-pace beer.

500 ml clear bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.4%. Bittering hop is First Gold, aroma hops are Goldings and Cascade. Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of lightstruck and grassy hops, some dusty notes too, a hint of toffee. The flavour is fairly refreshing and tolerably well hopped, on a buttery background with a hint of toffee again. Medium bitter aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.0%. Dark brown to black colour, large off-white to beige head. Strong aroma of coffee, roast malts, caramel and toffee. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavour has notes of roast malts and coffee, also caramel, treacle and toffee, but not too sweet. Moderate bittering hops in the finish.

440 ml can, from Birk Bryggeriutsalg, Klepp. ABV is 4.2%, hops are Citra and Amarillo. Slightly hazy golden to brownish-orange colour, moderate white head. Aroma of jam, caramel and dust. Smooth mouthfeel, fairly good for a beer of this low ABV. The flavour has notes of citrus, sufficient malts, with distinct and sharpish bittering hops in the aftertaste.

440 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.2%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma and flavour of ripe peaches and peach candy, the flavour has also hints of ripe cantaloupe melons. Simple, but refreshing and not too sweet, drinkable in the spring or summer sun.

Feb. 2013: 500 ml brown bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.7%. Clear brown colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of damson / plums, over-ripe raspberries and some weird fruity cough syrup I bought in Scotland once. The flavour is fruity and slightly roasty, notes of plums, over-ripe raspberries and cough syrup again. Moderate hops. Pretty weird beer.

(500 ml bottle). This is really just a decent English bitter with a bit more alcohol. Other raters claim that the bottle is more heavily hopped than the draught version - that might be true, at least the golden beer in front of me has a lovely hoppy aroma and a nice bitterness. Good head. Rather light bodied (too light?), which makes the brewery advertize it as "deceptively drinkable". Very refreshing it is, would like to sample the draught version too.

Dec. 2015: 330 ml bottle, as Bådin Original 8013 Black IPA, from the brewery. Batch #0066, ABV is 7,0%, 65 IBU. Nearly black colour, moderate beige head. Aroma of fruity and piney hops, on a background of moderate roast malts. Medium dry flavour, piney and moderately fruity hops, moderate roast malts with notes of coffee, a hint of dark chocolate. Score: 3.2 Also sampled April 2023 on tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. New score: 3.6

330 ml can, under its alias Bådin Anti-Imperial Fredspils, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, only slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, newmown grass, flowers and herbs. Fairly crisp and "clean" pilsener flavour, moderate herbal hops.

330 ml can, as Bådin Beiarn Julebayer, from Joker Vatlandsvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Moderate malty aroma, faint hints of caramel and red berries. Malty flavour, not too sweet, notes of brown bread, hints of brittle and dark fruits. Fairly refreshing.

On tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Black colour, tan head. The aroma and flavour reveal that there is a very decent and basic imperial stout underneath here, so what is the point with the mango? I suspect that it is here just because it is considered "fashionable" (the moderate addition of chili I can understand - sort of). Well, the moderate mango does not taste bad - it just does not bring anything of value to the beer. Still, the beer is very drinkable.

330 ml can, batch #755, from Vinmonopolet Odda. ABV is 6.0%. Nearly clear deep golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of tangerine, orange zest and apricots. Light bodied for its ABV. The flavour is semi-dry, with notes of orange zest, and a fairly distinct resinous and grapefruity bitterness in the finish.

On tap, as Bådin Kiwi Crusher NZ IPA, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Moderately hazy golden colour, white head. Neither the aroma nor the flavour have much of the fruity notes that I expect from a NZ IPA. On the other hand, there is a surprisingly distinct hop bitterness in the dry flavour.
