5903 | Silenrieux Joseph Spelt Ale | Belgium | Witbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 250 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Also available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5%. This spelt beer is organic (French: "biologique")., and has had a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Very pale blonde colour, hazy. Large and fluffy white head. Yeasty, spicy (cloves a.o.) and citrussy aroma, nice. Spritzy mouthfeel. The flavour is wheaty, fairly dry, notes of citrus and pepper. Not very different from their buckwheat beer "Sara". Joseph is a decent beer, but not worth the ridiculously high price in Norway. |

Milky pale straw coloured beer, moderate white head. Yeasty and estery aroma, notes of citrus and spices (coriander). Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is very citrussy, nearly acidic, moderate spicy notes. Refreshing, but not really a remarkable beer. |

5906 | Silly La Divine | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 33 cl bottle, bought at Selfridge’s, London. Deep amber colour, hazy. Large head. Aroma and flavour are rather alcoholic, with caramel, brown sugar, oak and hints of barnyard. Sweetness is reasonably balanced by the hoppy bitterness, which also has some not-so-desirable metallic edges. Mouthfeel is warming and a bit peppery. An unusual beer, well worth sampling, but DIVINE?? I don’t think so - go for the Trappists in stead, they have better connections "upstairs". |

5909 | Sinebrychoff Karhu III | Finland | Lager | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 (500 ml can). Typical pale golden pilsener colour, good thick head, nice lacing. There is nothing offensive in aroma or flavour - just too little of everything. "Clean" taste as far as there is any flavour at all - with a little more hops, this could have been a reasonably good lager. |

5912 | Sinebrychoff Porter | Finland | Baltic Porter | 4.9
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 (Bottle). Pitch black porter, even held against the light. Tan head. Complex aroma of coffee, cocoa, dried fruits, ensilage(!) and oak. The full and rich flavour has coffee, bitter chocolate and loads of roasted maltiness. Not too sweet, just the right bitterness in the aftertaste. This must be a world class porter! |

5913 | Singha | Thailand | Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Another beer I bought just to get one more country rated! Pleasant aroma when you open the bottle, hardly any aroma in the glass. Very light colour. Flavour is not unpleasant, actually there is hardly any flavour at all. Aftertaste? What aftertaste? (Well, I had this beer with a fairly spicy pizza, but still...) With 6% alcohol and little or no taste, it's probably an OK beer if your intention is to get pissed as fast as possible in the Thailand heat. Down there I guess it will cost you something like 20 cents a bottle - buying it anywhere else is ridiculous. |

5914 | Singha Gold | Thailand | Pale Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway (grocery stores). The "little brother" of the ordinary Singha, which also is available here (at Vinmonopolet). Pale golden colour, large and lingering head, very moderate carbonation. Tolerable fruity and grassy aroma. Fairly "neutral" lager flavour, some malty sweetness and moderate hops - not a great beer, but fortunately without the nasty "industrial" and metallic sidenotes that so many pale lagers are cursed with. Drinkable swill for the beach in Thailand. |

5915 | Singha Light | Thailand | Light / Lite Lager | 1.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 3.5%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Fairly strong grassy and grainy aroma. Mouthfeel like carbonated water. The flavour is utterly bland and boring (nearly flavourless), but there are no offensive off-flavours, and there is a faint hint of hops in the aftertaste, so I can’t say that the beer is totally undrinkable. Not something I’d ever pay good money for again, though. |

5918 | Sixpoint Bengali Tiger | United States | IPA | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 355 ml slimline can, as Sixpoint Bengali, at the Prince of Wales (JDW), Cardiff. ABV was 6.5%. Orange colour, moderate white head. 5919 | Sixpoint Resin | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 355 ml can, at the Granite City (JDW), Aberdeen Airport. 9.1% ABV, 103 IBU. Orange colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Surprisingly moderate aroma of American piney and grapefruity hops. In the flavour, however, both the piney / resinous and grapefruity notes are very distinct - still the beer is reasonably well balanced, the malts are sufficient, with a certain fruity sweetness, and where I expected an unbalanced resinous hell, there is actually as much smoothness as you can expect from a 103 IBU beer. Might well buy again. |

Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma, with notes of grassy and floral hops. The flavour is medium sweet, and not as crisp as the name suggests. Decent bitterness in the finish though. Okay, but hardly a beer I’ll buy again. |

5922 | SKA True Blonde Ale | United States | Blonde Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Oct. 2017: 355 ml can, as SKA The True Blonde, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Very pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Fairly strong and sweetish fruity and grassy aroma, notes of artificial candy. The flavour has also some sweetness, but not as much as the aroma made med fear. Crisp with decent hops, but unfortunately again with hints of artificial candy. Overall disappointing, this brewery can do better. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, thanks to yngwie. ABV is 5.0%. Golden to orange colour, big white head with an orangey hue.
