5551 | Saison Dupont | Belgium | Saison | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 33 cl capped bottle simply called "Saison Dupont" (bought in Norway), "Vieille Provision" is apparently used only for the corked bottle, otherwise it must be the same beer. Hazy golden beer with a large head. Lovely farmhouse aroma with spices and tobacco. Spicy and "authentic" farmbrew flavour, which unfortunately soon is overpowered by a strange medicinal bitterness on the the back of my tongue - I’m not sure how much of this bitterness comes from the hops and how much comes from dead yeast cells. This bitterness dominates the long aftertaste. |

5552 | Saison Dupont Biologique | Belgium | Saison | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 250 ml bottle, now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet). Hazy pale golden colour, large foamy and lingering head. Very nice fruity, yeasty and spicy aroma, hints of oak and barnyard. Light bodied, initially fruity (citrus) and peppery flavour, then a distinct wormwood-like bitterness takes over, and dominates the finish and aftertaste. |

5553 | Saison Dupont Dry Hopping | Belgium | Saison | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Shared magnum bottle at RBNAG 2011, as Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping, vintage 2011. ABV 6.5%. Hazy straw colour, moderate white head. Grassy hops in the aroma. Decent hoppy bitterness in the flavour. Can’t really say that it’s so much better than the ordinary Saison Dupont - but might be able to tell the difference if I sampled them side by side? |

5555 | Sakara 10% King | Egypt | Strong Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Can, as Sakara 10% King, at local tasting, shared by our beerpal Olav. Golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish "industrial" aroma, but also some nicer notes of spices (cinnamon etc.). Sweetish chemical flavour, notes of alcohol, hints of spices. |

5556 | Saku Estonian Porter | Estonia | Baltic Porter | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, simply named Saku Porter, from a potential importer. ABV is 6.9%. New bottle and label design, quite stylish. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large tan head. Malty aroma, notes of brown bread and caramel, okay but not very exciting. The flavour is also very malty with caramel and bready notes, also some burnt sugar and burnt breadcrumbs. Minimal hops. Nice enough to drink. |

5557 | Saku Kiss Premium Dry Cider | Estonia | Cider | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml clear bottle, from a potential importer. ABV is 5.0%. Golden colour, pours fizzy with a short-lived white head. Fairly nice aroma of sweet eating apples and oxidised cider apples. Moderate carbonation in the mouth. Flavour of sweet eating apples, not really dry, but not as sugary and "artificial" as I feared either. Very drinkable. |

5558 | Saku Kuld | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml can, a gift. ABV is 5.2%. Very pale golden colour, large white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some floral and grassy notes. 5559 | Saku Kuld Export | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, thanks to KnutAlbert. ABV is 4.5%. Normally the "export" version of a beer is stronger than the "ordinary" version, but in this case it is weaker! Crystal clear very pale golden colour, big white head. Moderate fruity aroma, citrus and candy. Light bodied, thin mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and sugary, with minimal hops. Not much to write home about here - nor to export. |

5560 | Saku Originaal | Estonia | Pale Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Rerate 500 ml bottle, from a potential importer. ABV is 4.6%. Very pale yellow colour, large white head. Fairly strong sweetish and grassy aroma. The flavour is rather sweet, again with some grassy notes, and the bitterness is too moderate. Far from undrinkable, though. |

5561 | Saku Rock | Estonia | Lager | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, as Saku Rock Alternative Premium, from a potential importer. ABV is 5.3%. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Moderate sweetish aroma, some pilsener malts. The flavour is not too sweet, but very bland, and the hops are very moderate. However, there are no offensive off-flavours, and I can see that this beer may "go home" with its apparent target group, young people who are really not into beer yet. Tolerably refreshing when cold. |

5563 | Saku The Cream of Dublin | Estonia | Irish Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, arbitrary sample. ABV is 4.2%. Might be imported to Norway, if a certain pubowner (not one of your usual suspects) gets it his way. Dark ruby colour, low creamy beige head. "Dusty" boring aroma. Smooth flavour, malts and a mild roastiness, low bitterness. Closer to an Irish Red Ale than a stout IMO. Drinkable, but not exciting. |

5566 | Salamander Dagens Pils | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 August 2020: 330 ml bottle, as Salamander Dagens Pils, batch #0037, from Det Gode Brygg, Sandnes. Pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Grassy and herbal aroma, notes of German noble hops. Standard pilsener flavour, a little grassy sweetness, some sourish notes in the end. A bit more bittering hops would not hurt. |

5567 | Salamander Lindøy Blonde Ale | Norway | Blonde Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Salamander Lindøy Blonde Ale, batch #064, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Slowly gushing bottle. The glass fills completely by white foam, a pale golden beer appears underneath only very slowly, takes a long time to settle. Aroma of spicy Belgian ale yeast, damp basement, dust and citric hops. Fizzy and citric mouthfeel. Distinct flavour of Lemondrop hops, but the bitterness is too low. |
