503 | Avery India Pale Ale | United States | IPA | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, big white head. Nice aroma of fruity and floral hops. The flavour is disctinctly hoppy throughout - plenty of American grapefruity and resinous hops, some malty sweetness in the middle, bitter finish and aftertaste. Quite good. |

504 | Avery Karma Ale | United States | Belgian Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV not mentioned on the label. Orange to amber colour, moderate to low white head. Dusty and uninteresting aroma, notes of cardboard. The flavour has some fruitiness, but is otherwise dusty, bland and boring. Minimal hops. Disappointing. |

505 | Avery Lilikoi Kepolo | United States | Fruit Beer | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 355 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Cloudy straw colour, moderate to low white head. Strong but not particularly nice aroma of passionfruit and citrus, sourish, hints of coriander. Medium sour flavour, passionfruit and citrus again, minimal coriander, no noticeable hops. Not my cup of tea. |

Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, huge tan head. Pleasant roasty aroma, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, some fruity hops, hints of wood. The flavour is moderately roasty with notes of dark malts, coffee and dark chocolate. A moderate but distinct roasty and hoppy bitterness in the finish, balanced by a moderate but sufficient malty sweetness. Good stuff. |

508 | Avery Salvation | United States | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011 in Oslo. Why are always the best beers served near the end of the tasting? Golden to amber colour, this is a Belgian-style golden strong ale, with lovely spicy and fruity notes in both aroma and flavour. Well balanced and not too sweet. Very good. |

509 | Avery The Beast Grand Cru | United States | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to gunnar. Batch 6 2008, 16,31% ABV. Hazy dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Intense aroma and flavour of malts, molasses and alcohol. Simply too much of the good stuff - there’s no way I could have finished a bottle of this beer on my own. |

511 | Avery The Maharaja Imperial IPA | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. OG 1090, ABV 10.41%. 102 IBU. Orange colour, big off-white head with an orangey hue. Strong sweetish aroma with notes of tropical fruits, citrus and pine, very nice. The flavour is sweet, alcoholic and dominated by an absurd amount of American hops from start to finish. Unbalanced. Another example of "overkill". |

512 | Avery White Rascal | United States | Witbier | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV not mentioned on the label. Hazy straw coloured beer, big to low white head. Typical witbier aroma of coriander and Curacao orange peel, also notes of cloves. The flavour has moderate notes of coriander and cloves, but the usual witbier citric notes are not coming through as strongly as desired. Bland finish. |

514 | Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Reddish brown colour, good head. Moderate aroma of oak and caramel malts. Medium body, typical dunkel, some toffee flavour but not too sweet. Must be good with food. Lightly hopped, pleasant, easy drinking. Maybe not the greatest beer in the world, but impossible to dislike, if you like beer at all. |

515 | Ayinger Bairisch Pils | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.3%. Crystal clear and very pale golden colour, large white head. Very nice aroma of floral and herbal hops. Crisp flavour with plenty of bittering hops, has still some residual sweetness. Clearly a pilsener in the upper end of the scale. |

516 | Ayinger Brau Hell | Germany | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Pilsener-like golden helles, decent head. A tad more malty than the average pilsener, probably more hops than the average helles, otherwise this is just a decent pils to me. Nothing wrong with it, but this style rarely gives me an orgasmic drinking experience. |

517 | Ayinger Brau-Weisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Cloudy light golden colour, large head. Typical hefe aroma (which is good), cloves, flowers and some citrus. Light bodied, typical hefe flavour but there's just too little of it, thin mouthfeel. Finish / aftertaste is definitely too thin / weak. The Ur-Weisse is a better choice. |

518 | Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock | Germany | Doppelbock | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2013. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Moderate tan head. Surprisingly moderate aroma: dark bread, some caramel. Rich malty flavour, dark bread and caramel again, also some molasses, but not cloyingly sweet. Very moderate hops as expected. A good doppelbock, but way overrated. |

519 | Ayinger Fruhlingsbier | Germany | Kellerbier | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2013. Pale golden colour, large white head. Fresh herbal, floral and grassy aroma, also notes reminiscent of weissbier-yeast / cloves. The flavour is also fresh and refreshing, medium sweet, with herbal notes. A beer I can easily associate with spring. *Also sampled on tap (keg) at St. Urho's Pub, Helsinki, Easter 2019. |

521 | Ayinger Kirta-Halbe (Autumn Beer) | Germany | Marzen / Oktoberfest | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, as Ayinger Kirtabier, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 5.8%. Deep golden to orange colour, slightly hazy. Large white head. Malty and grainy aroma with some slightly sourish notes. The flavour is also malty, with a slight acidity in the background. Moderate herbal hops in the finish. |

522 | Ayinger Leichte Brau-Weisse | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 3.2%. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Typical Weissbier aroma of wheat, citrus, banana and cloves. Ctric mouthfeel, acceptable body for its low ABV. Flavour with the same elements as the aroma. Might well buy again. |

524 | Ayinger Maibock | Germany | Bock | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Kvadrat. ABV is 6.9%. Golden colour, large white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts and floral and herbal hops. Fairly sweet and malty flavour, notes of honey and caramel, moderate herbal hops, the alcohol is noticeable. A bit too far out on the sweet side for me. |

525 | Ayinger Ur-Weisse | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 4.2
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Very cloudy, rather murky light brown colour. Like most weissbiers it pours with a large head. Plenty of cloves, ripe bananas, oak and hints of smoke in aroma and flavour. A little more hops for the aftertaste would have been good, but this is none the less a first class hefe-weizen. Recommended! |
