Aroma of coffee and roast malts, hints of dark chocolate and liquorice. Sweet and malty flavour, notes of sweetened coffee, roast malts and dark chocolate. Moderate bittering hops.

Fairly sweet and rich flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma, also notes of liquorice, sweetened coffee and bittering hops. Pretty impressive.

Medium sweet flavour, notes of roast malts, coffee, dark chocolate and dark rye bread, hints of caraway and orange zest. Ginger and alcohol warmth in the mouthfeel. Pleasant to drink.

Aroma of malts, brown bread, chocolate, caramel, burnt breadcrumbs, also herbal hops. The flavour has the same elements, not too sweet. More distinct hop bitterness than in most dunkels.

500 ml can, from Coop Extra Prestemarka, Tau. ABV is 4.5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish aroma, notes of grass and candy. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly crisp with just a slight sweetness, some citric notes, very moderate hops. Drinkable.

330 ml bottle, bought at Coop Obs, Stavanger, as Pokal Lys Pilsner, contract brewed in Norway for Coop Trading A/S, Denmark. Brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, big head. Sweetish typical industrial pale lager aroma, some fruitiness. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly boring as expected, but not offensive, and there are at least some notes of pilsener malts. Very moderate hops. Easy drinking, and as the price in Norway so far is very moderate too (as moderate as our alcohol taxes allow), I expect Pokal to sell well to beer drinkers more concerned with quantity and low prices rather than quality.

Medium sweet flavour, again notes of apricots and tropical fruits, also some citrus, a moderate piney bitterness in the finish. A truly enjoyable beer!
