5126 | Pinkus Hefeweizen | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought at Real Foods, Edinburgh. ABV is 5.0%. Like all Pinkus Müller beers, it is organic. Cloudy pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong and typical hefeweizen aroma, spicy notes of cloves and banana, hints of farmhouse and oak. Soft mouthfeel. Wheaty flavour, subdued cloves and banana, moderate sweetness. Another good hefeweizen, but not the very best. |

5127 | Pinkus Organic Münstersch Alt | Germany | Altbier | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, as Original Pinkus Obergärig (Münstersch Alt is mentioned on the rear label), from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.1%. Like all Pinkus beers, it is organic. Crystal clear and extremely pale yellow colour, more like a Kölsch than any Altbier I know. Moderate but lasting white head. Weak aroma, some grassy and dusty hops. The flavour is clean and refreshing enough, a typical Kölsch, I’d say (disregarding that the beer is not brewed in Köln). There are no offensive side flavours, but the moderately hopped flavour does not blow my socks off either. Clearly drinkable, but so are many other (and better) beers. Won’t buy again. |

5128 | Pinkus Special | Germany | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.1%. "Naturtrüb und ungefiltert". Like all Pinkus beers, it is organic. Pale golden colour, big and lasting white head. Moderate carbonation in the glass. Fairly unremarkable but not unpleasant sweetish aroma, hints of flowery hops and honey. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is delicate and tender, with a neat balance between the malts and hops. No "flavour bomb", but still much better than most of the industrial "fizzy and yellow" stuff. |

5131 | Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn Double IPA | United States | Imperial IPA | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Dec. 2018. On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Cloudy golden colour, large white head. Intense and complex hop aroma: fruity, piney, herbal and spicy notes. Also hints of honey and newmown grass. 5132 | Pipeworks Passion Abduction | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Feb. 2015: 650 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Batch #477/478. ABV is 10.5%. Black colour, moderate brown head. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee, chocolate / cocoa and vanilla, only a hint of passion fruit. Fairly sweet flavour, distinctly fruity first, then the expected roasty notes of coffee and dark chocolate, also vanilla. Moderate hops. I’m a bit uncertain how great I think the fruitiness blends in with the roastiness, maybe not what I would call "perfect balance". Still, an interesting beer. |

5133 | Piraat 10.5% | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, at Roma Pizzeria, Funchal. ABV is 10.5%. Slightly hazy orange colour, large white head. Aroma and flavour of Belgian ale yeast, kandij sugar syrup, mild spices, stewed fruits, hints of dark dried fruits. Nothing wrong with it, but there are even better Belgian strong ales in this style. |

5134 | Piraat 9% | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9%. Extremely pale yellow colour, huge white head. Strong sweetish aroma with notes of Belgian yeast, ripe fruits (incl. bananas) and spices (incl. cloves). The flavour is moderately spicy and relatively dry, notes of Belgian yeast again, very light bodied and refreshing for its strength (which means that the alcohol is well hidden). Nice, but I’ve had more complex Belgians than this one, though. |
