5103 | Petrus Dubbel Bruin | Belgium | Abbey Dubbel | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Dark brown colour, huge tan head. Nice aroma - some fruit, notes of malts, caramel and bakery, hints of spices. The flavour is malty sweet with plenty of caramel, also raisins (a certain fruitiness) and chocolate. Some hops in the finish. A good beer, but slightly too much on the sweet side. |

5105 | Petrus Roodbruin | Belgium | Flanders Red | 3.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 April 2013: Shared 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.5%. Very dark brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Interesting sweet & sour aroma, notes of oak and spices, hints of red wine vinegar. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is not as sweet as I feared, and not extremely sour. Light bodied. Some oaky and mild spicy notes, a hint of red wine vinegar again. Minimal hops, and the finish is rather bland. |

Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml can, kindly shared by abemorsten, who brought it from Mauritius. ABV is 3.5%. Very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate lemon aroma. Tastes like a lemon shandy, quite refreshing, but not much beer flavour (just a little malts in the finish). |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Can, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 6.5%. Golden colour, moderate head. Very moderate pale lager aroma, but not offensive. Standard pale lager flavour, nothing offensive here, tolerable hops. I guess I could survive on this in Mauritius. |

5113 | Piebalgas Alus | Latvia | Pale Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, bought in Riga, as "Piebalgas Alus Piebalga". ABV is 5.6%. This is a "gaisais alus" (= pale beer). Unpasteurised. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Sweetish malty and slightly fruity aroma, hints of honey. Sweet malty flavour, too sweet for a pale lager. Notes of honey. Alcohol is noticeable. Some hops in the finish. Unusual lager, but not undrinkable. |

5114 | Piebalgas Minhauzena alus | Latvia | Pale Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, bought in Riga. ABV is 4.6%. Is this beer possibly named after the notorious liar Baron von Münchausen? Pale golden colour, large and lasting head. Fairly malty sweetish aroma with notes of butterscotch and honey. The flavour is also quite sweet - too sweet for a pale lager, but reasonably malty with slightly metallic hops in the finish. Drinkable, but to call it a GREAT beer would be a lie, worthy of Baron von Münchausen! |

5115 | Pietra | France | Vienna / Amber Lager | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, labeled Pietra Bière Ambrée, bought in France. My first Corsican beer. Amber colour, large head. Nutty aroma with toffee and undefined herbal notes. Flavour is moderately malty with not-too-good hops, the chestnuts shine through. Chestnut powder in beer, WTF? Some strange medicinal character and a bitter finish and aftertaste. Not my favourite this one. |

Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 July 2016: 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.5%. Cloudy brown colour, moderate to low off-white head. Unpleasant aroma of stomach acid / vomit and spices. Fizzy mouthfeel, overcarbonated. The flavour is medium malty and slightly spicy, but the aroma ruins it all. Drainpour. Won’t buy again. |

5123 | Pilsner Urquell | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A pilsener as good as pilseners get. Rerate: Had it from can this time, still the benchmark of a good pilsener. Only 4.4% now, but I remember (I think!) that the alcohol content was about 5.2% when I first had it (in Germany) many years ago?! |

5124 | Pilsner Urquell Kvasnicovy (Unfiltered) | Czech Republic | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 October 2014: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Fairly clear golden colour (beginning of keg, will probably be hazier towards the end). Large white head. Strong aroma of herbal hops (Saaz, I assume), hints of butterscotch as expected, but not disturbing, Lovely and fresh hoppy and herbal character throughout in the flavour, distinct bittering hops in the finish. Also sampled at brewery tour. |

5125 | Pink Lady Apfel Cider by Katlenburger | Germany | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml clear screwcap bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Clear pale golden, pours moderately sparkling with a small and shortlived white head. Moderate aroma of Pink Lady dessert apples. Sweet flavour of said apples - Pink Lady is a popular eating apple, but probably not equally great as a single variety cider apple. Nice enough to drink, though. |
