4901 | Omnipollo Nathalius | Sweden | Imperial IPA | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. BB date 30.04.15. ABV is 8%. Brewed by Omnipollo at De Proef Brouwerij. "Single Hop Galaxy" is not mentioned on the label. Slightly hazy deep golden to orange colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of citrussy and piney hops. Fresh and fruity flavour first, seems to have kept well. The finish is drier, resinous and "dusty", very bitter. |

4905 | Opat Tmavé Tøešòové Pivo | Czech Republic | Fruit Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV 3.5%. Very dark reddish brown colour, low beige head. Strong aroma of canned cherries, marzipan and almond essence - lovely (in a weird way). Flavour of cherries, marzipan and brown malts. Nice enough to drink. |

4906 | Opperbacco TriplIPA | Italy | Strong Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.8%. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy, with a big white head. Lovely aroma of Belgian ale yeast, banana, coriander and mild spices. In the flavour, American hops dominate with a substantial bitterness from start to finish, on a more subtle background of "Belgian" sweetness with some citrussy and spicy notes. This cross between a Belgian triple and an American IPA is a reminder that Italy is one of the most interesting "new" craft beer countries in Europe. |

4907 | Oppigårds Golden Ale | Sweden | Blonde Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 330 ml bottle, ABV was 5.2%. Shared with my beerpal Olav who bought it in Sweden, thx! Golden colour, creamy white head. Moderate but nice aroma of hops. The flavour is dominated by pleasant hops throughout (Target, Hersbrücker, East Kent Goldings and Cascade), on a sufficient malty base. Good beer! |

4908 | Oppigårds Indian Tribute | Sweden | IPA | 2.7
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 May 2014: Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep orange to reddish amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of slightly unfresh orange marmalade. Medium sweet flavour, notes of piney hops, again unfresh orange marmalade. Drinkable, but not Oppigård’s best. |

4909 | Oppigårds Pale Summer Ale | Sweden | American Pale Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 At Copenhagen Beer Festival. Hazy pale golden colour. Pleasant and fresh aroma of American (and New Zealand?) hops. The flavour has also notes of American hops, but not too much. Fruity, light bodied and extremely refreshing. The ultimate summer beer. |

4910 | Oppigårds Slåtteröl | Sweden | Lager | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Correct spelling is Oppigårds Slåtteröl. RBESG 2006, bottle. Clear golden colour. Nice hoppy aroma, flowery and herbal, some vinous notes too. Flavour is reasonably hoppy. I drank it a bit too warm, must be nice and refreshing when colder. |

Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, hints of cigarbox and leather as the beer warms up.. The flavour is distinctly roasty, notes of coffee and dark chocolate again. Not much sweetness. Burnt notes in the bitter finish. Pretty good beer. |

4913 | Orchards Blakeney Red duplicate | United Kingdom | Cider | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Barrel at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, gravity dispense. The perry variety on tap here was simply called "Orchards", as the variety that would be available was not known when the festival programme went into print. ABV was listed as 6.4%, same as the bottled version of Orchards Blakeney Red Medium Dry Perry. But the colour of the perry I drank was considerably paler than the one the raters of "Blakeney Red" seem to have had. I presume the cask perries will vary in colour with the pear varieties that are available at any given time. The one I had was supposed to be "dry", and "made from fruits from renovated derelict orchards". It was actually pale straw coloured and cloudy. Aroma of pears (of course), yeast, and (if you want to be unpleasant:) toilet cleaning agent. Flavour was fruity (of course) - pears, sweeter than expected from an allegedly "dry" perry, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Not too bad. |

4914 | Orchards Farm House Dry Cider | United Kingdom | Cider | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml clear screwcap bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.7%. Hazy with some sediment in the bottle. Pours hazy deep golden, no carbonation. Very nice aroma of cider apples, farmhouse kitchen and oak, hints of sulphites. The flavour is fairly dry, tart cider apples dominate, hints of spices, oak and sulphites. I must admit I’d like just a little carbonation for a "fresher" mouthfeel, but this is still a nice and drinkable cider, if your preferences are on the dry side. Personally I wouldn’t mind a bit more sweetness. |

4915 | Organic Brewhouse Serpentine Organic Ale | United Kingdom | Extra Special Bitter | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Cask conditioned at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. I had a sip or two of distinguished beer rater chris_o’s sample of this beer at the festival, and found his rating to be quite accurate. This organic dark ale is not a typical English best bitter (organic Hallertau hops from New Zealand are used), it's more of a cross between a bitter and a dark mild, like chris_o says: Deep tawny/chestnut colour, sulphurous aroma, grainy and some roasted malts flavour with low bitterness, a slight sweetness, dry finish. |

4916 | Original Oettinger Alt | Germany | Altbier | 3.2
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. Brewed in the Oettinger Group's brewery in Mönchengladbach (one of their 5 German breweries). Clear brown colour, large creamy offwhite head. Moderate malty aroma with notes of caramel, hints of berries. One-dimensional malty flavour with moderate hops, mouthfeel is a bit dusty and metallic. Not a great altbier, but drinkable. |

4917 | Original Oettinger Dunkles Hefeweizen Naturtrüb | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. Brewed in Oettinger’s brewery in Schwerin. ABV is 4.9%. Hazy brown colour (looks like muddy water), large off-white head. Typical dunkelweizen aroma of yeast, rye bread, cloves and banana. Slightly sour and lemony flavour, light bodied, thin mouthfeel, notes of bread and cloves. Drinkable, but there are better dunkelweizens around. |

4918 | Original Oettinger Hefeweissbier Naturtrüb | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, bought in Germany. This beer is brewed in Oettinger’s brewery in Schwerin. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy (less hazy than many other hefes), large and fluffy white head. Aroma and flavour have some some of the traditional hefe characteristics (banana and cloves), but to a weaker degree, and there are also some soapy elements in the aroma. I tend to like nearly all hefeweissbiers, but this one definitely belongs in the lower end of the scale. Still drinkable and refreshing. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Clear orange to copper to amber colour, small white head. Aroma of piney and citric hops, notes of orange marmalade. The flavour has sufficient malts with a touch of caramel, but is not very sweet. Distinct notes of citric and piney hops, with a very bitter aftertaste. |

4922 | Orkney Clootie Dumpling | United Kingdom | Mild Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.3%. I've had clootie dumplings (the pudding, that is) the last couple Christmases, my family finds them more palatable than the traditional English Christmas puddings. But a beer tasting of clootie dumplings, hmm? Clear copper colour, moderate off-white head. Nice aroma of malts and mild Christmas spices. Flavour of malts, toffee and distinct Christmas spices, with an unexpectedly distinct and sharp hop bitterness in the finish. Might buy again for Christmas, or brew a homebrew similar to this. |

Grassy and floral aroma, hints of honey. Light bodied. Fairly refreshing and dry flavour with decent hops throughout.. An acceptable summer ale. |

4924 | Orkney Dark Island | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 4.3
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 8 This one of the very best (moderate strength) beers I've ever had (cask conditioned). Aroma and flavour of dried fruits, coffee and liqourice. Can't think of any faults with it. Rerate: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.6%. Black colour, ruby in the highlights, big to moderate tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, hints of peaty smoke and oak, not as fruity as the cask version, but nice. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but here distinct fruity and vinous (claret) notes come through too. The finish is slightly acidic with moderate but sufficient hops. |

4925 | Orkney Dark Island Reserve | United Kingdom | Strong Ale | 4.8
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Rerate, 750 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10%. Brewed 23rd Sept. 2008, bottled 10th Dec. 2008. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. The aroma is still vinous (sherry), oaky and roasty - also notes of chocolate, vanilla, figs and dates, hints of Christmas spices. Full and rich mouthfeel. The flavour has loads of malty sweetness, a moderate roastiness, oaky and vinous notes (sherry and/or port), some chocolate and a hint of liquorice. Moderate hops in the finish. Terrific beer! Original rating: Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. ABV was 10%. Pitch black colour, brown head. Lovely vinous, oaky and roasty aroma, some sandalwood too. Perfect! Vinous, roasty and oaky flavour - a wonderful beer! |
