Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, as Mylius-Erichsen Stout Mørketid. ABV is 5%. Black colour, big tan head. Nice roasted aroma with notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate and leather. Soft mouthfeel, fairly light bodied for a stout, but nice. The flavour has moderate roasty notes, mild coffee, hints of chocolate, not very sweet, a slight fruity acidity in the finish. Very modest hops. |

Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 330 ml clear bottle with tear-off cap, from Helgø Meny Stokka. ABV is 4.4%. Very pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts, maize, newmown grass and lightstruck hops. "Neutral" flavour with a little sweetness, slightly citric, very moderate bitterness. Boring, but not undrinkable. |

4514 | N'ice Chouffe | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 4.0
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 750 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 10%. 19 degrees Plato. Refermented in the bottle, unfiltered and unpasteurised. Ingredients include sugars, thyme and curacao. Hazy reddish dark brown colour, huge tan head. Pleasant but fairly moderate aroma with vinous notes, notes of oak and spices, hints of farmhouse. The flavour is distinctly spicy and oaky, with a substantial but not overwhelming sweetness from the malts and sugars. Some yeasty notes. Distinct hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Warming mouthfeel, but the 10% ABV does not dominate. As a Christmas beer, this one is better suited to accompany an English Christmas pudding than a main course of meats or fish - but is also nice to drink on its own. |

4516 | Nanoq Mammut Pale Ale | Greenland | IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 May 2012: Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Deep golden colour. Both aroma and flavour have caramel, toffee and decent hops throughout. Pleasant to drink. This is a surprisingly well balanced strong pale ale from Greenland. The alcohol is noticeable, but does not dominate. |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Sept. 2006: RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. ABV is 6.3%, OG is 1.070. Lovely chocolate aroma, roasty with notes of toffee too, hints of tar and liquorice. Flavour is malty and moderately roasty, pastry notes. Another fine beer from one of my favourite breweries. |

4519 | Närke Gransus | Sweden | Spiced Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Deep orange to red colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of spruce, hints of dust. Medium sweet flavour, distinct notes of spruce twigs, reminds me of Alba (Williams Brothers / Heather Ales). Interesting beer! |

4520 | Närke Hej! Jag heter Hampus | Sweden | Spiced Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. This is supposed to be some kind of gruit beer. Herbal aroma and flavour, notes of hemp. The mix of herbs is quite complex, it is difficult to identify single herbs. Bitter finish (possibly wormwood?). It is debatable how "good" this beer is, but at least it is among the most INTERESTING of its kind. |

4521 | Närke Jontes Atgeir | Sweden | American Pale Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 On tap at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival. Golden colour, low white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops, a faint hint of butterscotch (not disturbing). Lagerish mouthfeel. Refreshing hoppy flavour throughout, a firm bitterness in the finish. One of the better and most drinkable beers of the festival. I really liked this one. |

4524 | Närke Kulturbryggeri Anders Göranssons Bästa Rököl | Sweden | Smoked Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 On tap at The Rover, Göteborg. Dark chestnut colour, nearly ruby when held to the light. Amazing aroma of smoke, bonfires, seaside, tar and woodwork - but not the smoked sausage aroma of German rauchbiers. Smoke and tar in the flavour too, slightly drier than I would prefer, dusty / ashy finish. Not much else going on besides the smoke and tar. |

4525 | Närke Kulturbryggeri Bäver | Sweden | Spiced Beer | 1.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 On tap from a urinal(!) at HaandBryggeriet Beer Festival, Drammen. Sweet Jesus - who is crazy enough to use the secretion from beaver anal glands (castoreum) in BEER??!! Apparently, the guys at Närke are! The beer has an amber colour, moderate off-white head. Weird and penetrating aroma of beaver (insert jokes here at your own will), reminds me of smelly oils and undefined chemical waste. Hints of leather too. Dry flavour with a rather disgusting dominance of castoreum. Some hops in the finish. Nope, this is not a beer for me. |
