4401 | Mo Eventyrøl Lys | Norway | Blonde Ale | 2.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Sample on tap at Gladmatfestivalen 2011. Golden colour, moderate white head. Very fruity aroma, notes of green apples. The flavour has loads of green apples and little else, and is not good at all. The beer has apparently been fermented at a too high temperature. |

4402 | Mo Eventyrøl Mørk | Norway | Brown Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Sample on tap at Gladmatfestivalen 2011. I spoke to Bjørn Moe, and he confirmed that his two Eventyrøl varieties were NOT identical with Glad Laks and Mørk Suldøl - but as I was in a bit of a hurry, I forgot to ask if they were bottom fermented or top fermented. My guess is that they are both top fermented, which would imply that brown ale is the nearest style for Eventyrøl Mørk. Amber to copper colour, low off-white head. Moderate aroma, notes of brown bread, hints of caramel and toffee. Fairly decent flavour, some caramel and noticeable hops. |

4403 | Mo Glad Laks | Norway | Light / Lite Lager | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 On tap at the brewpub / farm "gasthof". Served by the brewer himself, I also had a brief look at the brewery. ABV is 3.75%. The only beer on at the moment, but "Mørk Suldøl" is also a regular and the low ABV "Slåttøl" is a summer seasonal. The farm / brewery is situated next to one of Norway’s best salmon rivers. "Glad Laks" (= Happy Salmon = Jolly Fellow) is a golden lager, slightly hazy with a moderate head. Pleasant but moderate malty aroma, hints of butterscotch, toffee and melons. Flavour and mouthfeel are rather weak, with too modest hops. Some "dusty" / "dry" hops in the aftertaste. I expect the "Mørk Suldøl" to be better than this. |

4405 | Mo Mørk Suldøl | Norway | Altbier | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 On tap at the brewpub / farm / guesthouse. Cloudy brown colour, creamy head. Distinctly malty (carahell) aroma, also notes of yeast, caramel and some pinewood, just a little hops (Saaz). The flavour is very fruity and acidic, unfortunately well on its way to vinegar, some residual sweetness. Minimal hops. |

4406 | Modelo Especial | Mexico | Pale Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 355 ml clear bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish Heineken-like lightstruck aroma, notes of maize. The flavour (as far as there is any flavour at all) has maize, grain and wet cardboard. Some weak citric notes, a little sweetness, minimal hops. As the beer is wet, cold and carbonated, it may serve some purpose under the Mexican sun - otherwise, it is one to forget. |

4413 | Moersleutel Willy Tonka - Tonka & Chocolate 2 | Netherlands | Imperial Stout | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Small sample from 440 ml can at Cardinal, Stavanger (I hope this is the right edition). Black colour, small tan head. A violent and overly sweet attack on the nose and tastebuds from sugar, tonka beans, cocoa and spices. But the guys at "Mandag i Annen" liked it, so who I am I to disagree (even if I claim to hate tonka beans in general)? Well, it is not bad in small portions. |

4418 | Molo Instant Hero | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.8
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Sep. 2017: 330 ml can, from Helgø Meny Maxi, Sandnes. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate to small white head. Fruity and floral aroma. Fruity and floral notes in the flavour too, a moderate sweetness, too moderate bittering hops. Could have been worse - but that is hardly a good enough reason to buy it again. |

4420 | Mongozo Banana | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 1.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 2 | Mouthfeel: 2 | Flavor: 2 | Overall: 2 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway (ULTRA stores a.o.). ABV here is 4.5%. Hazy golden colour, moderate creamy head. INTENSE aroma of "banana split" toffees, pleasant at first whiff, then VERY unpleasant sidenotes of vomit and chemical waste take over. Sickly sweet artificial (allegedly NATURAL, "fair trade" even - good grief!) over-ripe / rottening banana flavouring. A truly disgusting beer! It was expensive, so I forced myself to finish the glass. Urk! Blah! etc. Been there, done that. Never, never again! |

Nearly clear and very pale straw colour, small white head. Aroma of wheat / buckwheat, witbier yeast, coriander and other spices, hints of citrus peel. Light bodied. The flavour is yeasty, wheaty and citrussy, notes of mild spices. |

4422 | Mongozo Coconut 3.5% | Belgium | Fruit Beer | 2.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle. This is obviously a different beer from the 7% ABV Mongozo Coconut. This one is probably brewed for the Swedish market (Sweden has a 3.5% limit for beers sold in grocery stores), but it is now also available in Norway (ULTRA stores a.o.). Gushes out of the bottle, opaque straw colored, decent white head. INTENSE sweet aroma of coconut suntan oil, which is a smell I like, but not necessarily in beer! More unpleasant "chemical" notes come through later on. Flavour is very sweet and reminds me of the coconut & sugar filling in Bounty chocolates. Pretty bad beer, but not quite as disgusting as Mongozo Banana. |
