On tap, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, big beige head. Strong aroma of smoked meat / bacon, also roasty notes. The flavour has also strong smokey notes, and moderate roasty notes. A bit too much "smoked meat" for my taste. Not very sweet. A "German Rauchbier meets Baltic Porter"-experience.

Strong aroma of roasted barley, notes of coffee, hints of ashes and woodwork, a touch of smoke. Rich mouthfeel. Medium sweet flavour with strong roasty notes, coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Bitter and dry finish, roasty aftertaste. Excellent beer.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Herbarium. ABV is 7.7%. Opaque yellow colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of citrus, pine and spruce, hints of crushed gooseberries and tropical fruits. Lovely flavour with the same elements, moderate but decent bitterness.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Jørpeland. ABV is 7.9%. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of tropical fruits, esp. mango. The flavour is medium sweet (maybe too sweet), with distinct notes of tropical fruits throughout. Low bitterness.

500 ml can, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.5%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, and grassy and floral hops. Light bodied as expected, citric mouthfeel. The flavour has some weak citric and grassy hops, lacking a malty backbone.

330 ml can, Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 2.2%. Milky and very pale yellow colour, small white head. Nice aroma of citric and piney hops, hints of tropical fruits, some grainy notes in the background. Thin and citric mouthfeel. The flavour is piney and citric, hints of tropical fruits.

330 ml bottle (filtered and pasteurised), also sampled unpasteurised on tap, both courtesy of Lervig brewery. Deep golden colour, big to moderate white head. Very nice aroma of American hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Citra - also dry hopped), notes of orange marmalade and pine. Refreshing flavour with distinct hoppy notes throughout, citric and resinous notes, not too sweet, bitter finish. Light bodied, ideally this should have been a beer around 5.6% ABV, but then you have the Norwegian limit at 4.75% ABV for beers sold in grocery stores, making it necessary to compromise. Still, this is an enjoyable beer as it is.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly distinct aroma of mango, and mango essence. The flavour is not too sweet, but has a distinct fruitiness of mango. I thought the "mango craze" in the brewing world was nearly over now, but apparently it is not quite dead yet ...

330 ml bottle, from Ølfestivalen Nærbø 2011. Bottle No. 0270 out of 2000. Still available at Vaaland, Bryne. Hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of catty and citrussy hops, notes of blackcurrant leaves and pine needles. The flavour is distinctly hoppy throughout, quite dry and very refreshing. Notes of pine needles with a strong grapefruity bitterness.

500 ml can, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Black colour, small creamy beige head. Moderate aroma of roast malts. Flavour much like Guinness, perhaps a tad sweeter, notes of coffee, a hint of liquorice.

October 2019: 330 ml can, from Rema 1000, Tau. ABV is 0.5%. Slightly hazy pale yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma of citrus and spruce. Decent mouthfeel for a n/a beer. Hoppy flavour, notes of grapefruit and resin, with a rather sharp bitterness in the finish. Might buy again, as this is a better-than-nothing beer when you have to drive.

January 2020: 330 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is <0.5%. Cloudy straw colour, moderate to small white head. Nice aroma of grapefruit soda and fruity hops. Refreshing flavour, distinct notes of grapefruit, but not too sweet. Distinct bitterness in the finish. Light bodied of course, but a decent n/a beer.

330 ml can, from Coop Extra Prestemarka, Tau. ABV is 0.5%. Cloudy pale yellow colour, small white head. Fairly nice aroma of mango, also notes of pineapple and citrus. Relatively dry flavour with notes of the same fruits, also a sharpish hop bitterness in the finish. Not bad for a n/a beer.

330 ml can, from Helgø Meny Stadionparken. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, minimal white head. Strong and unpleasant aroma of artificial "wild berries" essence. The flavour is somewhat better, citric and not too sweet, but still with distinct notes of artificial berry essence. Decent bitterness in the finish. I'd rather have the ordinary No Worries, if you please.

Sampled on tap at Gladmatfestivalen, Stavanger. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Will be made available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Excellent aroma and flavour dominated by American Northwestern hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Citra), perfectly balanced by the malts (pilsener and crystal). Citric and resinous notes, just the right bitterness. One of the best lagers I’ve had in a long time.

Distinct aroma of dark malts, molasses, Jack Daniels whiskey, vanilla and oak, a hint of toasted coconut. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma.

330 ml can, from Helgø MENY, Hundvåg. ABV is 4.7%. Very pale straw colour, moderate to small white head. Horrible aroma of artificial fruit esters and dishwasher liquid. The flavour is slightly better, at least it is not too sweet, but the aroma ruins it all. Some bitterness in the finish. Thin mouthfeel.

Warming mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Very sweet flavour with the same elements as the aroma. The big bottle is for sharing!

Shared 375 ml waxed bottle at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 13.9%. Pitch black colour, small head. Chocolate dipped raisins in aroma and flavour, also notes of fusel in the aroma, but not in the flavour. An exclusive and delightful "box of chocolates", to be enjoyed in small portions.

375 ml waxed top bottle, from Vinmonopolet Etne. ABV is 15.1%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Boozy aroma, notes of fusel, bourbon and raw alcohol, also notes of caramel and vanilla. Warming mouthfeel, low carbonation. Rich and very sweet flavour, notes of caramel, chocolate and vanilla, also bourbon and oak. Too sweet for me, won't buy again.
