3826 | Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale | United States | Strong Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 355 ml bottle, at a breakfast joint in Petaluma. Deep golden to orange colour, large off-white head. Aroma and flavour of citrus, pine, caramel and sweet malts. Maybe a bit too far out on the sweet side for me, but still a fairly nice beer. Some alcohol in the finish. Anyway, I wouldn’t say that it sucks. |

3827 | Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale | United States | Strong Ale | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.6%, OG 1085, IBU 66.6. Beautiful amber to copper colour, moderate off-white head. Strong aroma of fruity American hops, old marmalade, caramel and crystal malts, alcohol. The flavour is very sweet, and the alcohol is not well hidden, but soon overpowered by a massive hoppy attack. Warming mouth- and throatfeel.Maybe too much of everything, but still a guilty pleasure to drink. |

Intense aroma of brown malts, caramel, oak and dark dried fruits. Very malty flavour, same elements as in the aroma, followed by decent hops (but not as bitter as 64 IBU?). A well made imperial brown ale. |

3829 | Laitilan Kukko Pils III | Finland | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 2.8
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml can, kindly provided by yngwie for an informal tasting. The ABV was 4.5%. Type pale lager golden colour, moderate head. Fairly sweet aroma, fruit and malts. Standard pilsener flavour, fairly bitter finish, slightly metallic aftertaste. No masterpiece, but I’ve had worse pilseners. And the name is quite amusing in Norwegian! |

3841 | Lancaster Amber | United Kingdom | Bitter | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 3.7%. Amber to brown colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Nice aroma of toffee and floral hops, just a hint of citrus. The flavour is well hopped for its strength, with herbal and citrussy notes, on a background of toffee and malts. Highly drinkable, a pleasant English session ale - among so many others, yes, but well worth a session of its own. |

3842 | Lancaster Black | United Kingdom | Stout | 3.7
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.6%. Black colour, big to moderate tan head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of roasted malts, some fruity hints. The flavour is crisp, fairly dry and moderately roasty throughout, hints of lemons (is Cascade in a stout really a good idea?). Very drinkable, but not the most impressive stout I’ve had. |

Moderate aroma, hints of citrus and elderflower. The flavour is fresh and zesty with notes of citrussy hops, also hints of tropical fruits, but the beer is not sweet. A firm bitterness in the finish, very nice. A decent refreshment ale. |

3844 | Lancaster Red | United Kingdom | Extra Special Bitter | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.9%. Copper coloured beer, moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Moderate malty aroma, notes of bakery and caramel, hints of red fruits. The flavour is fairly malty with distinct notes of caramel and brown bread, in a blind test I might first mistake this ale for a German dunkel. The earthy hops in the finish are more pronounced than in most dunkels, though. A very drinkable beer! |

3846 | Lapin Kulta Premium Lager (2007-) | Finland | Pale Lager | 2.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Lapin Kulta Premium. Was said to be 4.5%. Golden colour, low white head. Moderate floral aroma, not bad, not remarkable. Crisp and fairly dry flavour, but far too modest on the hops. This is a beer you’d drink on a tropical beach, rather than in the wilds of Lapland. |

3847 | Lapin Kulta Strong IV B | Finland | Strong Lager | 1.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 (500 ml can). Golden, low head, very alcoholic, sweet but at least there are some hops too. Overall boring, but I didn't find it too easily drinkable - which means that I won't get drunk as fast as the tougher Finns who constitute the target group of this beer. Having met this group as they were busy breaking empty bottles, puking and pissing in every doorway in downtown Helsinki on a Friday night (as early as 10 p.m.) - I say: You're welcome! |

Pale golden / blonde ale, slightly hazy, with a huge white head. Lovely strong aroma of fruits and spices (cloves and coriander?). The flavour is distinctly citrussy, followed by spicy notes and a moderate hoppy bitterness. Fairly crisp and dry. Refreshing and very pleasant to drink. |

3849 | Lausitzer Schwarzes Porter | Germany | Porter | 2.4
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 March 2013: 500 ml bottle, probably from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 4.4%. Dark brown colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Sweetish aroma of malt sugar and unfermented wort, also notes of bread and dust. Very sweet, sugary and malty flavour, reminiscent of a Danish dark "hvidtøl", but despite the sweetness, the mouthfeel is fairly thin. No hops detected. Not awful, though - just not something I’ll buy again. |
