3540 | Kaiserdom Kellerbier | Germany | Kellerbier | 2.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, unfiltered, from Dagli’brugsen Skødstrup, Denmark. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, large white head. Malty and grainy aroma, sweetish notes of baby porridge. The flavour is also malty and grainy, but not too sweet. Drinkable when cold. However, both aroma and flavour are nearly void of hops. What the hell - is there a hop shortage in Germany now? |

3543 | Kaltenberg Konig Ludwig Dunkel | Germany | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 5.1%. Deep copper brown colour, big to moderate off-white head. Aroma of bakery (brown bread and pastry) and caramel malts, also some moderate fruity notes. The flavour is malty with caramel, but not too sweet, some lightly burnt notes and moderate hops in the finish. Well balanced and pleasant to drink. According to Roger Protz, this is one of the 300 beers you need to sample before you die. I would not limit myself to 300 beers, but König Ludwig Dunkel is definitely worth sampling (and having again the day after), as a fine example of Bavarian dunkels - a style that most of the time does not get the love it deserves on beer rating websites. |

3544 | Kaltenberg Konig Ludwig Weiss | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 (500 ml bottle. As "Prinzregent Luitpold Weissbier" in Germany it contains more "hefe" and is more carbonated than the international König Ludwig version). Cloudy blond colour, large head. Lovely aroma of ripe bananas and cloves. Light bodied, some cloves in the flavour, refreshing. Like most weissbiers a short aftertaste, but what there is, is good. |

3545 | Kanterbräu | France | Pale Lager | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 An average standard French pale lager, in the Alsacian German-influenced brewing tradition. Seems to have a more local Alsacian following than Kronenbourg and Kronenbourg 1664, which you get all over France. In later years Kanterbräu seems to have become more of a discount beer than the other two. Nothing special. Kronenbourg 1664 is slightly better. |

3546 | Kapuziner Bavarian Hefe-Weizen (Weissbier) | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 500 ml swingtop bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Hazy golden colour, huge white head. Strong aroma of ripe bananas and banana-flavoured candy / bubble gum, also notes of cloves. Refreshing flavour, some sweetness but not too much, notes of banana, citrus and cloves. In other words: a typical well made Hefe-Weissbier, which is good enough for me, as I love this beer style, esp. in summer. |

3547 | Kapuziner Weissbier Schwarz | Germany | Dunkel Weizen | 4.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 500 ml swingtop bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.4%. Dark brown colour, huge beige head. Lovely strong aroma of banana, cloves, mildly roasted malts and rye bread, a hint of chocolate. Bready flavour with mildly roasted malts and chocolate again, some cloves and banana in the background. Not too sweet. Low on hops, as normal for the style, but the roasted malts make the finish acceptable. Beautifully balanced, a very fine Dunkelweizen. |

3550 | Karjala III | Finland | Pale Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 (On tap at Helsinki Airport). An ordinary golden pilsener with a low head, good hoppy (Saaz?) aroma. Light bodied, easily drinkable. You could down a few of these on a midsummer’s day/night. Not unpleasant in any way (= not too much character either). Moderate bitterness in the aftertaste. |
