3326 | Hunter’s Devon Maid Lager | United Kingdom | Pale Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Hunter's Devon Maid Lager, from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.4%. Almost clear golden colour, hazy when the yeast is poured in the end, large white head. Sweetish malty aroma, also notes of newmown grass and herbal hops, a hint of honey. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, fairly bitter finish. |

3329 | Husumer Helles (Pilsner) | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Draught at the Brauhaus / brewpub’s tent at Husumer Hafentage. Was called a "Helles" there, also in the printed Brauhaus "newspaper" which served as a menu. No "Pilsner" mentioned there. While the brewpub’s website, on the other hand, makes no mention of a Helles other than the Pilsner, and the ABV is exactly the same (varies between 5.0 and 5.2%), I presume they are identical. After all, "hell/helles" simply means "pale", and the term is frequently used all over Germany for all kinds of pale lagers, not only the Southern German "style" Helles (if it really is a clearly defined style at all, which is debatable). Served ice cold in a plastic glass. Honey coloured, slightly hazy, low head. A helles / average pilsner with a fairly decent balance between hops and malts, but nothing exceptional going on here. |

3330 | Husumer Weizenbier | Germany | Hefeweizen | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Draught in the Brauhaus / brewpub / restaurant, which is situated in the Theodor Storm Hotel (a Best Western hotel) in Husum. Hazy golden colour, orange in the restaurant candlelight. Moderate head, fizzy. Strong cloves and banana aroma. Flavour has cloves and is fairly dry, there are some hops around too. Aftertaste is a bit "dusty". |

3331 | Hverdagsprodukter Kompils | Norway | Pale Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml can, bought at ICA Maxi. ABV is 4.5%. The brewery of this contract brew is not mentioned on the can, but apparently it is the Hansa Borg group. Golden colour, big to moderate fluffy head. Typical "industrial" sweetish pale lager aroma, quite strong and unpleasant. Moderate carbonation in the glass, soft mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately sweet and rather boring, but not offensive. Low bitterness. |

3332 | Iceni Cranberry Wheat | United Kingdom | Fruit Beer | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 Cask conditioned at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, gravity dispense. ABV was listed as 4%, but brewery website says 4.1%. Intensely clear red (and I mean RED - like a cranberry soda) colour. Minimal carbonation. Moderate cranberry aroma. Very thin mouthfeel - like water with artificial red colouring added. The colour makes you expect something very sweet, but it is not. Not sour either. Relatively dry, actually, with just a very moderate flavour of cranberries and some faint hops. Not much wheat character. Did I mention a thin and watery mouthfeel? Yes, I know it’s not a fruit lambic, but I feel entitled to expect something better than this. Better leave brewing fruit beers to the Belgians, I guess .... |

3334 | Iceni Raspberry Wheat | United Kingdom | Fruit Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Bottle conditioned, batch no. 040812arw. Bought at Memorable Cheeses in Ipswich. This fruit beer is an unfiltered and bottle conditioned wheat lager, not an ale. Cloudy golden colour (I poured the yeast in). Aroma and flavour are prickly and tart raspberries on a wheat background, not too sweet. Rather bitter finish. Not bad. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Bottle conditioned, 500 ml, bought at Memorable Cheeses, Ipswich. Flavour is lightly roasted malts and lemons. Acidic and thin mouthfeel. Unremarkable aftertaste. Drinkable, but disappointing. |

3337 | Iki Beer | Belgium | Spiced Beer | 2.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, now available in Norway. ABV is 4.3%. Website for this beer is www.ikibeer.com . Hazy pale yellow colour, big and lasting white head. The sweetish aroma is a bit strange, after all green tea and yuzy fruit are not common ingredients in beers. Some rubbery notes too. The flavour has some wheaty notes, but is most of all reminiscent of lemon ice tea. Minimal bitterness. Not undrinkable, but won’t buy again. |

3338 | Ilkley Alpha Beta Session IPA | United Kingdom | IPA | 2.9
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Feb. 2018: 330 ml can, from Ales By Mail. ABV is 4.5%. Golden colour, moderate to small white head. Moderate aroma of piney and fruity American hops Light bodied. The flavour is moderately fruity first, with some resin, then a sharp and very distinct and medicinal bitterness takes over, and lasts through the long aftertaste. The beer has not enough body to support the bitterness. |

Mild roasty notes in the aroma. Smooth and pleasant flavour, mild roasty notes, hints of mild coffee and chocolate, but not sweet. I could easily drink a few pints of this one. Will buy again. |

3343 | Ilkley Mary Christmas | United Kingdom | Spiced Beer | 3.8

Aroma of spices, cloves, allspice and nutmeg come through. There might also be some cinnamon and ginger in there. Also hints of orange peel and caramel. Earthy English hops. Good beer. |

3347 | Inderøy Farmannsøl | Norway | Stout | 3.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, brew #834, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Black colour, big to moderate creamy greyish brown head. Nice roasted aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee, some cheesy and slightly acidic notes too. The flavour is moderately sweet and roasted with a certain fruitiness, notes of coffee as expected. Ashy dry finish. Could have been better, could have been worse. |

3348 | Inderøy Gårdsøl | Norway | Kellerbier | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, bought at Fenaknoken, Oslo. Brew #909, ABV is 4.5%. Organic, unfiltered and unpasteurised "kellerbier". Hazy pale golden colour, big and lasting white head. The aroma has a pleasant mix of fruit, malts, toffee and butterscotch, hints of honey and resin too. The flavour has first a tolerable balance between the malts and hops, but also some coarse "traditional homebrew" notes, which I am not entirely happy about in such a delicate beer style. Some resin in the finish, unpleasant hints of metal and cardboard. |

3349 | Inderøy Gildets Mjød | Norway | Mead | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml shared bottle, at "Onsdag i Annen", Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. So far not available in the pub’s ordinary selection. ABV is 10%. Fairly pale and slightly milky colour, moderate carbonation. Aroma and flavour have notes of honey, like any mead should, but this is still the driest mead I’ve had. Distinct herbal and spicy notes in both aroma and flavour. Mouthfeel reminiscent of rough cider. Alcohol is evident. The relatively dry character makes this mead more drinkable than the intensely sweet and uncarbonated ones, but I’d still prefer to share the bottle with one other person. |

3350 | Inderøy Hommeløl | Norway | Bitter | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, brew #830, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden to brown colour, slightly hazy, with a big head. The aroma has malts, some caramel, fruit and hops, also wood, juniper and resin, a hint of spices, maybe a faint hint of smoke too. The flavour is woody and resiny with decent hops, again with a hint of smoke. Has a flair of "traditional homebrew" this one. I like it! |
